“The Last Shall Be First” Pastor Gilman brings us back into the Gospel of Mark with a teaching on relying on God. In Mark 9:30-37 Jesus illustrates who we should be in relationship to God by setting before us the example of children. Faced with the disciples arguing over who among them was the greatest, Jesus reveals the simplicity of children. Children had no legal standing, were dependent upon others, and totally subject to the authority of others. Yet, the are precious in God’s sight and loved unconditionally. It’s not our ability that makes precious to God, it is our availability or willingness to be used by God as instruments of grace and love. Have hope and see!
