Oswego Jazz Project Today
The Joyful Noise concert today at 4 p.m. brings Robert Auler back to the piano. But instead of playing classical music, he will be part of a 4-member jazz ensemble that will perform some standard fare, contemporary selections, ballads, and a few newly composed or arranged pieces. OJP is faculty jazz quartet-in-residence at SUNY Oswego, where it was launched in 2006. The group has played on NPR’s “All Things Considered,” and has appeared at the “jazz church,” St. Peter’s in Manhattan, as well as at Harborfest. Part of its mission is to promote music education among students and the general community. Musicians are Eric Schmitz, Trevor Jorgensen, Robert Auler, and Max McKee. All Joyful Noise concerts are free, so bring neighbors and friends to enjoy this exciting musical adventure.
Annual Auction
Forms are available in the church office for donations to our annual auction to be held on May 8. You may mail or bring it to the church as soon as possible. We ask that you please have your donation paper work in the office by Monday, April 26, to allow enough time for preparation and printing of the auction booklet. It is important to have your
item in the booklet since it is handed out a week before the auction so people can decide what they want to bid on and to draw more people to the auction. Your donated items do not need to be in until May 6th.
Order Easter Altar Flowers
We invite you to honor your loved ones by purchasing flowers to decorate our altar on Easter Sunday. By purchasing plants together, we can provide beautiful plants at the best possible price. Lilies are $8 and Azaleas are $11 each. Please return this form with payment as soon as possible. A list of honored loved ones will be included in the Easter Sunday bulletin. Thank you for helping to provide a beautiful altar to celebrate Easter.
Altar Flowers
The flowers on the altar every Sunday are an important part of our worship service. If
you would like to give a gift of flowers to honor a loved one, a birthday or anniversary,
or in memory of someone, please contact Cathy Temple at 457-5180.
