Today is Souper Bowl Sunday

We are collecting cans of ready-to-eat soup for Souper Bowl Sunday. Look for a bin outside of fellowship hall TODAY. We will donate the soup to the St. Joseph’s Food Pantry in Liverpool and to the Blessings in a Backpack program that provides weekend meals for children in need.

Enjoy this Sunday luncheon eat in or take out!

Chicken & gravy on buttermilk biscuit, vegetables, dessert, beverage.

Thank you for supporting A Tiny Home for Good

Outreach thanks everyone for donating to the Christmas Love Lights campaign. Because of your kindness, we will donate $518 to A Tiny Home for Good, an organization that supports those who face homelessness by providing affordable, safe, and dignified homes and by fostering community partnerships to ensure resident stability.

Vital Congregations Town Hall Meetings

These are opportunities to ask questions about the recommendations that were presented on January 26, and discuss them before the March 1 vote.

Confirmation Class begins Feb. 9

Confirmation Class will be offered for youths in 7th grade or higher on these Sundays at 4 pm: February 9, 16, 23; March 1, 8, 15, 22.
Palm Sunday will be the day the Confirmands are welcomed as full members of the church. Please let Pastor Bob or Karen Gloyd know if your child will be part of this experience (315-457-5180).

Noisy Can Collection for mission project TODAY, February 2

Outreach & Missions Committee is working with the Conference Mission Central Hub to prepare hygiene kits in Fellowship Hall on February 23 after the 9:30 am service.

More than 1000 hygiene kits were used to support relief efforts due to this Fall’s flooding to the east of us.

To help purchase materials for the kits, we will collect coins and cash today, February 2.

Please help weigh down the cans, so we can lighten the load for others.

Basic Lay Servant Course – March 20 & 21

Sharon Hartman and Kay Phillips will teach this class at Liverpool 1st March 20 (6 – 9 pm) & March 21 (9 am – 4 pm).

Help the homeless by donating socks & personal care supplies

Want to help the homeless? John Tumino from In My Father’s Kitchen is coming to the Olivebranch Women’s Group meeting in February to share information about his program. He also distributes white socks (no dress socks), travel size deodorant, wet wipes, and kleenex tissues to people in need. Donations of these items will be accepted at a bin in the church corridor.

We welcome people of all ages to join us on our trip to Cape May, New Jersey – departing on Friday, May 1 and returning on Sunday, May 3. For those employed you would only need to use one vacation or personal day.

Crossroads District Training Day

Five cents makes a difference

Donate returnable beverage containers to the LFUMC Youth account at MSK Bottle/Can Return on Rt. 57 to support Casowasco camperships. Or, leave them in the church kitchen for our volunteers to return.

Keep depositing your bottles and cans for the church’s Camperships Fund at MSK Returns. We just received our latest check – $120. Thank you!

Quilt ministry seeks volunteers

The Prayer Quilt ministry meets on Tuesdays at 10 am to measure, cut, iron, sew, and tie knots. They are seeking more volunteers to assemble quilts. Stop by church on Tuesdays or call 315-457-5180 for information.

Now collecting ready-to-eat pasta

Blessings in a Backpack is seeking donations of ready-to-eat pasta meals (any brand, any child-favorite flavors). For many children, food is their most important school supply. Information is at the collection bin in the main corridor.

Need help with school work?

Teens in the LIFE Youth Ministry offer tutoring! Children may come for help the second and fourth Tuesday of each month from 6 to 7 pm. They help with all core subjects — math, science, English, and music. Contact LIFE Youth Director Zachary Martin at or 315-708-2004 for information.

Altar Flower Sponsors Needed

Sponsors may take flowers after the worship service.

Purchase an arrangement in honor of someone’s birthday, anniversary, or other special day — or in their memory.

Flowers are needed for most Sundays this winter and spring. Some dates fill up far in advance, so call or email the office staff if you have a specific date in mind.
