CHORAL INTROIT Give Thanks to the Lord arr. by Patrick M. Liebergen

CALL TO WORSHIP

One:  God said, “Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to give light to the earth.”

Many: We give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and wonderful deeds.

One:  God said, “Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.”

Many: Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good.  His love endures forever.

One:  This is how God showed his love among us:  He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.

Many: Thanks be to God for the gift of his Son, our Savior.

One:  Jesus said, “My peace I give you.  I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

Many: Thanks be to God for our victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

CHORAL & CONGREGATIONAL CALL TO PRAYER # 349

Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus (sing twice)

Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in his wonderful face, and the things of the earth will grow strangely dim in the light of the glory of his face.

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE

THE LORD’S PRAYER

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

HYMN # 92 (V. 1,2,3) For the Beauty of the Earth

SPECIAL MUSIC Testify to Love by Praise Life!

WRITTEN WORD Psalm 100

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.

QUESTIONS OF FAITH AND LIFE

• Do you see the donut or the hole? What can make a difference for you?

• What should be our primary focus this week?

• What does it mean to not forget all of God’s benefits to us?

• What can you do to make sure that happens in your life?

• What chokes off our gratitude? How can we guard against that?

MESSAGE Gratitude Is Huge
