After consideration of volunteer availability, Dinner/Fundraising Committee has cancelled the August 22 (Thursday) BBQ. Thank you volunteers for your help with the June and July barbecues. We raised $1,576 for the church budget (plus $175 from Delta Sonic coupon sales). Look forward to the traditional June BBQ and revamped July/August 2020 events.
Additional Security Greeters Needed
Our first year of Security Greeters has been very successful. Three or four new volunteers are needed to replace those rotating off. There is a short orientation. Contact Jason Hoy ASAP through the church at 315–457-5180 to serve one Sunday a month.
Crossroads District offers Life in the Spirit Seminar — September 20–22
Learn about the person and work of the Holy Spirit — the third person of the Trinity — and enter the fullness of Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. It is not just an event about the Holy Spirit. It is an event with the Holy Spirit, where the Spirit is an active participant.
This team-taught seminar includes scripture references and personal testimony. The material is designed to break down barriers, dispel myths and fears, and create a hunger for the gifts of God’s Spirit to be manifested in a new and vital way in the life of the believer and in the life of the church.
A related devotional guide is offered for every day from now through September 20. Copies are on the table at the church Information Center, and online at www.unyumc.org
Friday, September 20, 2019 from 7 — 9 pm and Saturday, September 21, from 9 am — 4 pm at Bellvue Heights UMC, 2112 South Geddes Street, Syracuse
