Blessings in a Backpack food collection
During this summer, Blessings in a Backpack is collecting fruit and grain bars for Seymour School. Any brand or flavor is great – just no nuts. We do this so we will be ready to feed 200 children each weekend during the school year. Hungry children need to do schoolwork and not be distracted by a “rumbling tummy”. Thank you for continued support of this program. Information is at the collection bin in the church corridor.
Please consider donating a food item for the Brown Memorial picnic on August 4
Outreach will prepare and serve Sunday dinner — a cookout — at Brown Memorial UMC on August 4. Please sign up on the Outreach bulletin board to provide food. Note the dates for when items are due. Outreach members are available in Fellowship Hall after services to collect donations. Needed: hot dogs, rolls, chocolate chip cookies, baked beans, potato chips, and watermelon. If you have questions or would like to serve on
August 4, contact Jennifer Holmes at firstname.lastname@example.org (or any other Outreach member).

Olive Branch Women’s Group gatherings begin September 23
Olive Branch is open to all women. It meets one Monday a month, beginning at 5:30 pm with appetizers followed by a light potluck or catered dinner at 6 pm. There is a different and interesting program every month from 7:15 to 8 pm. New and exciting programs are being planned for this year. As soon as they are confirmed, a program booklet will be distributed. This year, Debbie Chrissley, Kay Phillips, Vickie Goodwin, and Ginny Tilden are scheduling the presenters.
A group of more than 20 women divide into small groups to share dinner responsibilities each month. Cost for dinner is $5. This contribution is payable at the door. Reservations are required the week before so the chef knows how much to prepare.
Save these dates: September 23, October 28, November 25, December 16, January 27, February 24, March 23, April 27, May 18, and June 22.
Remember to wear a name tag
Help Pastor Bob Vizthum get to know you by wearing a name tag.
Tags are stored somewhat alphabetically in the holders located in the main hall by the coat rack. You may return your tag to the holder most convenient for you (in the narthex, by the back elevator, or the main hall).
There are new purple ribbon cords on each rack for you to use should you wish .If you don’t have one, please fill out a sticker at the Information Center table in the corridor.
If you would like to have a name tag, contact Elizabeth or Kate in the church office at 315–457-5180 (email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org).
Or ask Kay Phillips or Ginny Tilden during coffee hour.
TAGS REQUESTED LAST WEEK ARE ON TABLE IN FELLOWSHIP HALL.
200th Anniversary Celebration — September, 2020
Celebrating the Past, Embracing the Future
Our congregation was formed in 1820. Next fall we will celebrate 200 years in Liverpool!
Susan Slenker, church librarian and historian, invites members of all commissions and committees, and any other interested church members, to join the 200th Committee.
A number of people have expressed interest. Preliminary planning with Ginny Tilden this summer has led to an outline of a year-long celebration, where all main church events will carry a 200th anniversary logo, to emphasize this church’s ongoing history. Contact Ginny Tilden or Sue Slenker ASAP or leave your name with the church office staff at 315–457-5180. First planning meeting is tentatively set for Tuesday, August 27, at 7 pm.
