Join faith friends at a Syracuse Mets game
Tuesday, July 23, is United Methodist Church night at NBT Stadium as the Syracuse Mets take on the Indianapolis Indians. Join Methodists from our church and other area churches for fun at the ballpark.
• Starting at 4:45 pm, come to the tailgate party in the parking lot sponsored by the Crossroads District United Methodist Men. Bring a dish to pass, your own beverages and table service, and enjoy complimentary hot dogs and coneys provided by the UMM in exchange for donation of a non-perishable food item for the Food Bank of Central NY.
• If you wish, join in singing the National Anthem at home plate at 6:15 pm.
• Game time is 6:35 pm. Watch as Pastor Brian Homan throws out the ceremonial first pitch! Say a prayer that he can get it over home plate.
Tickets are on sale for $10 in Fellowship Hall.
Summer LIFE meets Sundays at 10 am & Fridays at 6 pm in July & August. Teens in grades 7 — 12 invited!
Nursery volunteers needed
The church nursery needs volunteers this summer. Please contact Karen Gloyd if you would help care for infants and toddlers during the 10 am Sunday worship service. Thank you!
Blessings in a Backpack food collection
During this summer, Blessings in a Backpack is collecting fruit and grain bars for Seymour School. Any brand or flavor is great – just no nuts. We do this so we will be ready to feed 200 children each weekend during the school year. Hungry children need to do schoolwork and not be distracted by a “rumbling tummy”. Thank you for continued support of this program. Information is at the collection bin in the church corridor.
Meet & Greet with Pastor Bob Vizthum
Wednesdays, July 24 or August 28, at 6:30 pm
Meet Pastor Bob in a small informal setting in Memorial Lounge on July 24 or August 28 at 6:30 pm. Enjoy cookies and coffee provided by members of SPRC. There is space for 20 people each night so you will have an opportunity to get to know him. Please sign up in Fellowship Hall.
Summer Worship is at 10 am
The nursery is open throughout the

Help serve a meal at Brown Memorial UMC
Outreach will prepare and serve the Sunday dinner at Brown Memorial UMC on August 4. We’re planning a cookout and need your help. From supplying hot dogs or baked beans, to cooking the ‘dogs’ on the grill (in the Brown Memorial parking lot) and serving people who may not see too many hot meals, you are encouraged to help and be a part of this mission. As those of you who have served at Brown in the past have learned, as well as those who made sandwiches for the Samaritan Center last Sunday, serving others is what we’re made to do. It’s evident by the smiles it brings to our faces. Details to come.
Live your faith through action.
