HYMN #145 Morning Has Broken

CALL TO WORSHIP  (written by Desley Anne Findo)

L:  God fashioned all your parts before you were even born.

P:  He wants you as you are; for His purpose you were formed.

L:  He made you in His likeness, unlike the beasts and creatures.

P:  He’s given you gifts and talents; you are special in your features.

L:  So discover all your talents; work hard, try lots of things.

P:  Watch for what you’re good at; these are the gifts God brings.

L:  God made you very special. Thank Him for how you are.

P:  Ask Him to use you to bless others and you will shine just like a star.

Loving God, call us together as your people; transform us with your love. Transform our hearts, so we may love generously.
Transform our eyes, so we may see your grace.
Transform our hands, so we may serve others.
Transform our spirits, so we may be the body
of Christ, gathered to worship and sent out to serve. Amen.

CONGREGATIONAL CALL TO PRAYER #393 Spirit of the Living God

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

Praise God, from Whom All Blessings Flow

THE WRITTEN WORD Romans 12: 4 — 8

In this way we are like the various parts of a human body. Each part gets its meaning from the body as a whole, not the other way around. The body we’re talking about is Christ’s body of chosen people. Each of us finds our meaning and function as a part of his body. But as a chopped-off finger or cut-off toe we wouldn’t amount to much, would we? So since we find ourselves fashioned into all these excellently formed and marvelously functioning parts in Christ’s body, let’s just go ahead and be what we were made to be, without enviously or pridefully comparing ourselves with each other, or trying to be something we aren’t.

If you preach, just preach God’s Message, nothing else; if you help, just help, don’t take over; if you teach, stick to your teaching; if you give encouraging guidance, be careful that you don’t get bossy; if you’re put in charge, don’t manipulate; if you’re called to give aid to people in distress, keep your eyes open and be quick to respond; if you work with the disadvantaged, don’t let yourself get irritated with them or depressed by them. Keep a smile on your face. — The Message (MSG)

 • What are your God Given Gifts and Talents?

 • Do you share your gifts with others?

 • How better can you serve God by sharing your gifts?

HYMN #593 Here I am Lord

SENDING Go Now in Peace

Go now in peace. Never be afraid. God will go with you each hour of every day. Go now in faith, steadfast, strong and true. Know He will guide you in all you do. Go now in love, and show you believe. Reach out to others so all the world can see. God will be there watching from above. Go now in peace, in faith, and in love.
