Farewell note from Pastor Brian

Dear friends at Liverpool First,

I cannot adequately describe my family’s and my appreciation for the wonderful farewell you provided for us. I thoroughly enjoyed mini golf and outdoor laser tag with our wonderful teens, and their leadership in my closing service. I will miss their enthusiasm, giftedness, and fellowship.

Our heart was deeply warmed by the farewell luncheon provided by our Monday afternoon Through the Bible study. I enjoyed our weekly study and our progress begun two years ago that started in Genesis and brings us to the Book of Daniel. I do not know of many pastors who can celebrate leading a Bible study of 24 wonderful people at one time. I place your spiritual care into the capable hands of pastor Bob, whom I know will be equally as blessed, as you have blessed my life.

I thank the Staff Parish Relations Team, the Hospitality Team and the entire congregation that provided a memorable reception for my family after last Sunday’s service. The cards, letters and gifts are too numerous to respond to individually, but are cherished. I appreciate you so much and will continue to pray for your growth in faith and ministry.

I am honored to have served as your pastor and thank God that it was in his plan, for both you and me, that we should spend this time together. I now look forward to being your friend rather than your pastor.

Pastor Brian Homan

Join faith friends at a Syracuse Mets game

Tuesday July 23rd is United Methodist Church night at NBT Stadium as the Syracuse Mets take on the Indianapolis Indians. Join fellow Methodists from our church and other Central New York Methodist churches to cheer on the Mets and have a night of fun at the ballpark.

Events for the night include:

– Starting at 4:45 pm, come to the tailgate party in the parking lot sponsored by the Crossroads District United Methodist Men. Bring a dish to pass, your own beverages and table service, and enjoy complimentary hot dogs and coneys provided by the UMM in exchange for donation of a non-perishable food item for the Food Bank of Central NY.

– If you are interested, join in singing of the National Anthem at home plate at 6:15 pm.

– Game time is 6:35 pm. Watch as Pastor Brian Homan throws out the ceremonial first pitch!  Say a silent prayer that he can get it over home plate.

Tickets will be on sale for $10 in Fellowship Hall beginning Sunday July 7th. Go Mets!

Summer LIFE will meet on Sundays
from 10 – 11 am from June 30 to August 25.

They will also meet on Fridays at 6 pm.

Teens in grades 7 – 12 are invited to attend either or both times!

Volunteer with Youth Praise Band

We have 6 high school age members that want to have a Praise Band here at Liverpool First,  but they need an adult in the group with some musical knowledge.

If you have some musical talent, please prayerfully consider helping these young people in their budding ministry.

Darlene Patton will attend practices and be responsible for the non-music part of praise band.

Please contact her or Nancy B. James at the church at 315-457-5180.
