Prepare Flood Buckets at Mission Hub

The Outreach & Missions Committee needs volunteers to help prepare Flood Buckets (filled with cleaning supplies) at the conference’s Mission Hub in Liverpool. This is a great opportunity to visit this new facility and reach out to those who are struggling with extreme weather conditions throughout the country.

Help check buckets to make sure all items are included and that there is no mold damage (from leaky cleaning containers). Also, fill flood buckets and possibly put health kits together. Please consider giving two hours of your time. It means so much to people struggling.

Meet on April 13 from 9 to 11 am at The Upper New York Conference Center, 7481 Henry Clay Blvd., Liverpool. Contact Eric Holmes and/or sign up in Fellowship Hall on the Outreach bulletin board by April 9.

Follow the Stations of the Cross at the Olivebranch Women’s Group April program

Rose Rheinheimer will lead participants through the ritual of the Stations of the Cross this week before Easter. She will lead scripture along the Via Dolorosa, the painful way of the cross. There will be opportunities to participate in readings and follow Jesus’ footsteps in the 14 successive incidents during his progress from the condemnation by Pilate to his crucifixion and burial.

Program begins at 7:15 pm on April 15. Everyone is welcome. Women wishing to attend dinner (appetizers begin at 5:30 pm) should reserve a meal by 11 am on April 12 at 315-457-5180 or lfumc@liverpoolfirstumc.org

Outreach & Missions Committee
encourages all to support InterFaith Works

Members of the Outreach and Missions Committee met with InterFaith Works in March and obtained an understanding of the wonderful things this organization does. Their mission is: “InterFaith Works, through education, service, and dialogue, affirms the dignity of each person and every faith community and works to create relationships and understanding among us.” They specifically focus on helping refugees transition to their new life in the Syracuse area. Outreach is planning to support one or more of the activities of InterFaith Works. More information will be forthcoming. Background on InterFaith Works is posted on the Outreach Bulletin Board in Fellowship Hall. You are invited to read the material. We hope you will get involved to suport their work in the near future.
