Support refugees — learn how on March 10

Join your Outreach Commission in welcoming Daryl Files to our church on March 10 at 2 pm. Daryl works with the interfaith community and will explain how we can help refugees. She will share stories of families that have settled here and the new ones that are coming. There are many ways we can assist as a church community.

Appreciation from Adult & Teen Challenge

Olivebranch and Adult & Teen Challenge thank all who donated paper products and cleaning supplies. The organization receives no public money and survives through gifts of money and supplies to help young men with addictions. Currently they have more than 20 residents and most have the flu, so the cleaning supplies would be used immediately to clean and disinfect, as they were almost completely out.

Lenten devotional books available today

Seasons of Joy and Gladness — the 2019 Lenten devotional book produced by the Society of St. Andrew (a gleanig ministry to feed the hungry) is available in the narthex at the back of the sanctuary and at the Information Center in the main church corridor. Pick up a free copy to read short meditations and scriptures for each day of Lent.

Weekly Lenten Communion Services, also at 7 pm

You are invited to Wednesday evening communion services during the season of Lent. The services are led by Rev. Candace Lawrence and organist Bill Young. This weekday service is a great way to give time back to God during Lent, and to prepare ourselves for the celebration of Easter. Come to one service or to all of them. Share the blessing of worship together during Lent.

These services are at 7 pm on March 13, March 27, April 3, April 10, and April 17. There is no service on March 20 due to another meeting to be held at the church.

A message from the SPRC

SPRC will meet on March 4 to discern ways and opportunities for our members to express gratitude for the many ways that Pastor B has ministered to us. As soon as we finalize plans, we will communicate them. Meanwhile, Pastor B continues to provide us with pastoral care and Sunday services.

Additionally we are anxious for the announcement of our new pastor. We have no information as this date, but offer this prayer: Dear Lord God, Though we don’t always see how your good plan for our lives and our church is unfolding, help us to trust in you until we do. Amen
