Senior Min­istries plans 2019 events

Our 2018 events have come to a close. Check our table for pic­tures of recent events: Elf the Musi­cal at Syra­cuse Stage and our Christ­mas lun­cheon. Copies of our 2019 sched­ule of events is on the table. Pric­ing will not be avail­able until the end of Jan­u­ary on most trips/events. The excep­tion are the two overnight trips: Cape May is sold out but there is still space avail­able on our trip to Lan­cast­er.

What do Unit­ed Methodists believe that makes us dif­fer­ent from oth­er church­es? Would you like to learn more about how you can join the church and serve Christ? Begin­ning Jan­u­ary 6 and con­tin­u­ing for 7 weeks, mem­bers and inquir­ing mem­bers may join Pas­tor Bri­an Homan to explore the Unit­ed Methodist faith. New Year’s devo­tion­al book avail­able

Pas­tor Homan offers books authored by Stephen Skel­ton of Enter­tain­ment Min­istries. Avail­able at the infor­ma­tion table in the main cor­ri­dor: A Hap­py & Holy New Year pro­vides a bib­li­cal mod­el for cel­e­brat­ing. The Bible pro­vides a prece­dent for how to cel­e­brate the first day of the New Year. It also pro­vides instruc­tions for how to make res­o­lu­tions for bet­ter liv­ing. Learn about God’s will for your New Year.

Tie knots with the Prayer Quilt Min­istry

The Prayer Quilt Min­istry needs vol­un­teers to tie quilts togeth­er with square knots. They meet Tues­days at 10 am. Con­tact Jean Jack­son for details or call the church at 315–457-5180.

2019 Offer­ing Envelopes avail­able today in Fel­low­ship Hall

After today’s ser­vice please stop in Fel­low­ship Hall to pick up your box of 2019 offer­ing envelopes. They are on a table next to the ele­va­tor door and are arranged in alpha­bet­i­cal order by last name. If you do not have a box and wish to use them, please con­tact Eliz­a­beth in the office at 315–457-5180.

Bless­ings in a Back­pack feeds chil­dren

Liv­er­pool chap­ter of BIB pro­vides week­end food for 200 of the 672 qual­i­fy­ing stu­dents at Sey­mour School on Syracuse’s south­west side. Infor­ma­tion is at the col­lec­tion bin in the church hall­way.

Fam­i­ly Min­istries needs can­dy & snacks

Indi­vid­u­al­ly wrapped can­dy, fruit snacks, or mini packs of cook­ies or crack­ers may be left in the col­lec­tion box.

Kitchen vol­un­teer need­ed Mon­days

Our church hosts a PEACE, Inc. meal for senior cit­i­zens. Vol­un­teer would help serve and clear. Call the church at 315–457-5180.

Knit or cro­chet with Prayer­ful Threads
Knit or cro­chet scarves, hats and mit­tens for peo­ple in need, and blan­kets and sweaters for chil­dren. Join them the first and third Sun­days of the month at 2 pm, or work on your own. Con­tact Paula L. through the church, 315–457-5180, for infor­ma­tion.
