Learn about Alzheimer’s on Novem­ber 26

The Olive­branch Women’s Group pro­gram to be pre­sent­ed
tomor­row night (Novem­ber 26) at 7:15 pm is open to every­one. Call the church office at 315–457-5180 to reserve a seat.

Learn to decode mes­sages through atti­tude, tone of voice, facial expres­sions, and body lan­guage to com­mu­ni­cate with fam­i­ly, friends, or neigh­bors with Alzheimer’s. The pro­gram will be pre­sent­ed by Car­ri­anne Wil­son, Asso­ciate Direc­tor CNY Alzheimer’s Asso­ci­a­tion.

Advent Wor­ship with Holy Com­mu­nion will
be offered at 7 pm on Decem­ber 5, 12, & 19

Join a time of peace and prepa­ra­tion for Christ­mas at Wednes­day evening Advent Com­mu­nion Ser­vices, start­ing at 7 pm in the sanc­tu­ary. Organ­ist Bill Young and Rev. Can­dace Lawrence will lead tra­di­tion­al music and wor­ship. Focus our hearts on the mean­ing of this holy sea­son, grow in faith, and bring our faith to the cel­e­bra­tion of Advent and Christ­mas.

Tour Lights on the Lake on the Church Bus

View the Lights on the Lake dis­play at Ononda­ga Lake Park with church friends. Dri­vers from the Out­reach & Mis­sions Team will take groups on Mon­day evenings through­out the sea­son, begin­ning Novem­ber 19. Sign up in Fel­low­ship Hall. For infor­ma­tion, call the church at 315–457-5180. Enjoy the lights and good cheer with up to 13 oth­ers on a warm bus.

FREE Advent Break­fast — Sat­ur­day, Decem­ber 1

Peo­ple of all ages are wel­come from 8:30 to 10 am for French toast, sausage, orange juice, milk, and oth­er bev­er­ages. Fea­tures nativ­i­ty crafts for chil­dren, tree dec­o­rat­ing, and vis­it with/photo oppor­tu­ni­ty with San­ta. For plan­ning pur­pos­es, please sign up on the board in Fel­low­ship Hall. Sun­day Advent study begins Decem­ber 2

O. Hen­ry wrote a short sto­ry enti­tled The Gift of the Magi that has inspired many. Pas­tor Bri­an Homan will lead a four-week study on the sto­ry from 3 to 4 pm on Sun­days dur­ing Advent, begin­ning Decem­ber 2. 

Ser­vice of Remem­brance, Decem­ber 7 at 7 pm 

Cler­gy mem­bers from sev­er­al Liv­er­pool church­es lead a memo­r­i­al ser­vice at St. Matthew’s Epis­co­pal Church on Vine Street in Liv­er­pool. Spon­sored by Mau­r­er Funer­al Home, it offers c an oppor­tu­ni­ty to remem­ber loved ones that have passed away. All are wel­come.

Par­ents Time Out — Decem­ber 8, 11 am — 2 pm

Par­ents, drop your chil­dren off at church and enjoy time to shop, wrap gifts, or relax. The chil­dren will make crafts, enjoy piz­za, dec­o­rate hol­i­day cook­ies, and par­tic­i­pate in games and sto­ries led by our LIFE Youth Min­istries group. Please sign up down­stairs or in the Fel­low­ship Hall so that we know how many to expect. Host­ed by the Hos­pi­tal­i­ty & Fel­low­ship Team.

Chan­cel Choir Can­ta­ta — Decem­ber 16

The choir will per­form the can­ta­ta, God Came Near by Tom Fet­tke and Max Luca­do on Decem­ber 16 at the 9:30 & 11 am ser­vices. Sev­er­al guest musi­cians and con­gre­ga­tion mem­bers will par­tic­i­pate along with the choir.

What does it mean to be a Methodist?

What do we believe that makes us dif­fer­ent from oth­er church­es? Begin­ning Jan­u­ary 6 and con­tin­u­ing for sev­en weeks, church mem­bers and inquir­ing mem­bers may join Pas­tor Homan to explore the Unit­ed Methodist faith. They will meet Sun­days from 3 to 4:30 pm.

Sup­plies need­ed for flood clean-up buck­ets

In the after­math of hur­ri­canes Flo­rence and Michael, there is a need for “Flood Buck­ets” to help peo­ple clean-up their homes. We are spon­sor­ing a col­lec­tion of buck­ets. Please help pro­vide sup­plies for those in need. See a mem­ber of Out­reach in Fel­low­ship Hall, take a buck­et and a list of items need­ed, or just a list and do what you can to help.

Indi­vid­u­al­ly wrapped can­dy, fruit snacks, or mini packs of cook­ies or crack­ers may be left in the col­lec­tion box near Fel­low­ship Hall.
