Learn about Alzheimer’s on November 26

The Olivebranch Women’s Group program to be presented
tomorrow night (November 26) at 7:15 pm is open to everyone. Call the church office at 315-457-5180 to reserve a seat.

Learn to decode messages through attitude, tone of voice, facial expressions, and body language to communicate with family, friends, or neighbors with Alzheimer’s. The program will be presented by Carrianne Wilson, Associate Director CNY Alzheimer’s Association.

Advent Worship with Holy Communion will
be offered at 7 pm on December 5, 12, & 19

Join a time of peace and preparation for Christmas at Wednesday evening Advent Communion Services, starting at 7 pm in the sanctuary. Organist Bill Young and Rev. Candace Lawrence will lead traditional music and worship. Focus our hearts on the meaning of this holy season, grow in faith, and bring our faith to the celebration of Advent and Christmas.

Tour Lights on the Lake on the Church Bus

View the Lights on the Lake display at Onondaga Lake Park with church friends. Drivers from the Outreach & Missions Team will take groups on Monday evenings throughout the season, beginning November 19. Sign up in Fellowship Hall. For information, call the church at 315-457-5180. Enjoy the lights and good cheer with up to 13 others on a warm bus.

FREE Advent Breakfast – Saturday, December 1

People of all ages are welcome from 8:30 to 10 am for French toast, sausage, orange juice, milk, and other beverages. Features nativity crafts for children, tree decorating, and visit with/photo opportunity with Santa. For planning purposes, please sign up on the board in Fellowship Hall. Co-sponsored by Dinner/Fundraising, Christian Education, and Outreach.

Sunday Advent study begins December 2

O. Henry wrote a short story entitled The Gift of the Magi that has inspired many. Pastor Brian Homan will lead a four-week study on the story from 3 to 4 pm on Sundays during Advent, beginning December 2. 

Service of Remembrance, December 7 at 7 pm 

Clergy members from several Liverpool churches lead a memorial service at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church on Vine Street in Liverpool. Sponsored by Maurer Funeral Home, it offers c an opportunity to remember loved ones that have passed away. All are welcome.

Parents Time Out – December 8, 11 am – 2 pm

Parents, drop your children off at church and enjoy time to shop, wrap gifts, or relax. The children will make crafts, enjoy pizza, decorate holiday cookies, and participate in games and stories led by our LIFE Youth Ministries group. Please sign up downstairs or in the Fellowship Hall so that we know how many to expect. Hosted by the Hospitality & Fellowship Team.

Candle lighters & readers needed for Christmas

If you would like to light the Advent Wreath or read a scripture verse during Christmas Eve worship, please notify Pastor Brian Homan or call the church office at 315-457-5180 by November 27.

Chancel Choir Cantata – December 16

The choir will perform the cantata, God Came Near by Tom Fettke and Max Lucado on December 16 at the 9:30 & 11 am services. Several guest musicians and congregation members will participate along with the choir.

Christmas Bake Sale is Sunday, December 16

Please sign up to donate goodies for our annual bake sale (sold by the small or large box). See the sign up in Fellowship Hall for suggestions and to help.

What does it mean to be a Methodist?

What do we believe that makes us different from other churches? Beginning January 6 and continuing for seven weeks, church members and inquiring members may join Pastor Homan to explore the United Methodist faith. They will meet Sundays from 3 to 4:30 pm.

Harmony of Harps Concert – December 17

All are welcome to this free performance – December 17 at 7:15 pm in the church sanctuary. Hosted by the Olivebranch Women’s Group.

Supplies needed for flood clean-up buckets

In the aftermath of hurricanes Florence and Michael, there is a need for “Flood Buckets” to help people clean-up their homes. We are sponsoring a collection of buckets. Please help provide supplies for those in need. See a member of Outreach in Fellowship Hall, take a bucket and a list of items needed, or just a list and do what you can to help.

Candy & snacks needed for Family Ministries

Individually wrapped candy, fruit snacks, or mini packs of cookies or crackers may be left in the collection box near Fellowship Hall.
