One:       Who are we who gather in this place?

All:          We are disciples of Jesus Christ, sharing his Love through Worship, Works, and Witness

INTROITJoyfully Sing to God Foreverarr. by Patrick M. Liebergen

One:       We have this treasure, our faith in Christ, in fragile lives. We find ourselves hard pressed on every side,

All:           But not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair;

One:       We may sometimes feel targeted and persecuted, but God has never abandoned us

All:           We feel truck down, but we are not destroyed

One:       If we carry around in our body the death of Jesus, his life may also be revealed in us

All:           For we know and accept that we who follow Jesus and his values are always being given over to death.

One:       We are committed as his disciples for Jesus’ sake, in the hope that his life may be revealed in our lives.

All:           May our songs, our thoughts, and our choices reflect our dedication to Jesus and our lives reflect his love and grace.

HYMN#110 A Mighty Fortress Is Our God

O Lord, as we come to this time of worship we gather as people with various struggles and challenges, wounds and brokenness. We do not like them known for we like to feel we are in control, but we know we really are not. We claim to trust you so help us to seek your face in the midst of our storms; help us to lay our burdens down and be open to your presence and guidance. Protect and provide us. May our worship renew our hope so we may face the battle with the confidence we do not face them alone or under our own strength. Give us the victory we long for
as we abandon ourselves to your praise. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

GIVING OURSELVES TO GOD Ein feste Burg ist unser Gott- Johann Pachelbel

FELLOWSHIP CHORUS #2226 Bind Us Together

Bind us together, Lord, bind us together with cords that cannot be broken. Bind us together, Lord, bind us together, bind us together in love. There is only one God; there is only one King; There is only one Body; that is why we sing. (chorus repeat)

THE WRITTEN WORD Psalm 27. 1–6

The Lord is my light and my salvation— so why should I be afraid? The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble? When evil people come to devour me, when my enemies and foes attack me, they will stumble and fall. Though a mighty army surrounds me, my heart will not be afraid. Even if I am attacked, I will remain confident. The one thing I ask of the Lord the thing I seek most— is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, delighting in the Lord’s perfections and meditating in his Temple. For he will conceal me there when troubles come; he will hide me in his sanctuary. He will place me out of reach on a high rock. Then I will hold my head high above my enemies who surround me. At his sanctuary I will offer sacrifices with shouts of joy, singing and praising the Lord with music.

  • If you could ask “one thing” of the Lord, what would it be?
  • When have recently felt under attack?
  • What provides you with the greatest security?
  • Is seeking God’s face your first reaction to challenge or
how far is it on the list of your priorities?

L: We are called to follow Jesus.

L: No. It will demand our dedication and our energy.
P: It will change our whole lives.

L:Go forth with the words of wisdom crying in your ears. Go forth with songs of hope singing in your heart. Know that the One who has called you will always be near you, will always guide and encourage you to walk the path of life. Amen.
