Help supply and deliver spring gift baskets
Donations for homebound members needed by April 15: pocket tissues, lotions, hand sanitizer, cards, pens, mini coloring books, colored pencils, stationery. Collection basket is in church corridor. Members of the Hospitality & Fellowship Team will deliver them on April 22; sign up in Fellowship Hall to help deliver.
2018 Sophie Graze Scholarship applications available
Sophie Graze Church Scholarships are awarded to graduating high school seniors and, for 2018, returning students for their second year of higher education. Karen Gloyd can answer questions. Applications are due May 15. Call 315–457-5180 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for an application.
Dinner/Fundraising Committee extends thanks
The Dinner/Fundraising Committee thanks all who participated in our winter dinners — chicken & biscuits and fish fries. Together we raised $2000 for church programs and ministries! Plan to attend and/or help with chicken barbecues June 2, July 19, and August 16.
Senior Ministries Update
For those attending the April 13–15 trip to Lancaster to see Jesus, arrive at church by 8 am for departure promptly at 8:30 am. Check our table in Fellowship Hall to see what events are available for the remainder of 2018.
Like to sew? Help finish quilts at your home
The LFUMC Prayer Quilt Ministry needs people to sew at home to attach binding to quilts. Contact Jean Jackson at 315–457-5180.
Blessings in a Backpack collection: breakfast bars
Blessings in a Backpack is collecting breakfast bars in April. They must not contain nuts. Store and brand suggestions at collection box in the church corridor. Provide hungry school children with weekend meals.
Olivebranch invites women to April 23 program
How In the World Did They Get Rid of Dust Bunnies? John Ferrini from Vacuums Galore shares his collection of cleaning machines and vacuums. Come at 5:30 pm for hors d’oeuvres and dinner or 7:15 pm for just the program. Call 315–457-5180 or email email@example.com by April 20 to reserve dinner.
Knit or crochet with Prayerful Threads
Members knit or crochet scarves, hats and mittens for people in need, and blankets and sweaters for children that are baptized in our church. Join them on the first and third Sundays of each month at 2 p.m., or work on your own at home and coordinate with facilitator Paula Lamberson. Call 315–457-5180 for information.
Project Christina donations support foster children
Bless foster children through Project Christina by donating stuffed toys, reusable tote bags, and books. Information is located near the collection box in Fellowship Hall.
5 cents makes a difference to our youth programs
Donate 5‑cent returnable bottles & cans to church, or to MSK Returns on Rt. 57, for the LFUMC Youth account for Christian Education & Family Ministries.
