Help sup­ply and deliv­er spring gift bas­kets to home­bound mem­bers

A col­lec­tion bas­ket is in the church cor­ri­dor for dona­tions for spring gift bas­kets. Mem­bers of the Hos­pi­tal­i­ty & Fel­low­ship Team will deliv­er these bas­kets on April 22. Dona­tions need­ed at church by April 15: items such as pock­et tis­sues, lotions, hand san­i­tiz­er, cards, pens, mini col­or­ing books, col­ored pen­cils, and sta­tionery. We also need vol­un­teers to help deliv­er the bas­kets. Please sign up in Fel­low­ship Hall to help deliv­er.

 

2018 Sophie Graze Schol­ar­ship appli­ca­tions avail­able

Sophie Graze Church Schol­ar­ships are award­ed to grad­u­at­ing high school seniors and, for 2018, return­ing stu­dents for their sec­ond year of high­er edu­ca­tion. Karen Gloyd can answer ques­tions. Appli­ca­tions, avail­able in the church office, are due May 15. Con­tact Kate at 315–457-5180 to get an appli­ca­tion.

 

Sup­port recov­ery — donate per­son­al care items

The youth group is col­lect­ing for Syra­cuse Teen Chal­lenge, a pro­gram that helps peo­ple with addic­tion recov­er through rela­tion­ship with Jesus. Needs: men’s toi­letries, bleach, laun­dry deter­gent, dish soap, toi­let paper, loose-leaf paper, spi­ral bound note­books. Place in col­lec­tion box in the church cor­ri­dor.

 

Senior Min­istries Update

For those attend­ing our first overnight trip to Lan­cast­er to see Jesus April 13–15, arrive at the church by 8 am for depar­ture at 8:30 am. There still is lim­it­ed space on the fol­low­ing events/trips:  June 6 Din­ner at Bori­o’s with enter­tain­ment by The Soda Ash Trio; July 31 Motor coach trip to Raque­tte Lake for a lun­cheon cruise and tour of The Adiron­dack Muse­um; Sep­tem­ber 6 Motor coach trip to Cort­land — lunch @ The Sher­man House fol­lowed by Cort­land Reper­to­ry’s  “Rat Pack Lounge”.  For more details, check out our table in Fel­low­ship Hall.

The LFUMC Prayer Quilt Min­istry needs peo­ple will­ing to sew at home to sew bind­ing onto quilts. Con­tact Jean Jack­son at 315–635-7863.

 

Bless­ings in a Back­pack col­lec­tion: break­fast bars

Bless­ings in a Back­pack is col­lect­ing break­fast bars in April. They must not con­tain nuts. Store and brand sug­ges­tions at col­lec­tion box in the church cor­ri­dor. Pro­vide hun­gry school chil­dren with week­end meals.

Knit or cro­chet with Prayer­ful Threads
Mem­bers of the Prayer­ful Threads group knit or cro­chet scarves, hats and mit­tens for peo­ple in need, and blan­kets and sweaters for chil­dren that are bap­tized in our church. Join them on the first and third Sun­days of each month at 2 p.m., or work on your own at home and coor­di­nate with facil­i­ta­tor Paula Lam­ber­son. Call the church at 315–457-5180 for infor­ma­tion.

Project Christi­na dona­tions sup­port fos­ter chil­dren

Bless fos­ter chil­dren through Project Christi­na by donat­ing stuffed toys, reusable tote bags, and books. Infor­ma­tion is locat­ed near the col­lec­tion box in Fel­low­ship Hall.
