Vera House Appeal – Support efforts to end abuse

Vera House is a local non-profit organization that provides services to victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse and also offers related   education and awareness programs. Help by volunteering or providing funding. Use a pew envelope and mark it Vera House; put your name  or envelope number on it if you wish to have your donation show on your church giving statement for tax purposes. If using a check, make it out to LFUMC. Or, write Vera House next to the other line if using your regular numbered offering envelope.

Support recovery – donate personal care items

The LIFE youth group is collecting items for Syracuse Teen Challenge, a residential program that helps individuals with addiction recover through a relationship with Jesus Christ. Needed: men’s toiletries, bleach, laundry detergent, dish soap, toilet paper, loose-leaf paper, spiral bound notebooks. A collection box is in the church corridor,
near the Information Center.

Olivebranch Women’s Group Programs, March – June

Come at 5:30pm for dinner or 7:15pm for just the program.
March 26 Rince Na Somas Irish Dancers share culture & history of
costumes & dance with Nora Putnam & dancers ages 3 years old through high school.
April 23 How In the World Did They Get Rid of Dust Bunnies? John Ferrini from Vacumns Galore shares his amusing collection of old cleaning machines & vacuums.
May 21 Helping Children in Crisis – Erin Gessini & Sarah Easterly from the County of Onondaga Department of Children & Family Services.
June 25 Women will dine out at a community restaurant.

Drive Thru History Videos – Wednesdays at 6:30 pm

Meets in the church library before Lenten Worship. See the story of Jesus from places where Jesus traveled and taught – more than 50 sites in Israel. Learn the gospel while uncovering evidence of truth in scripture. Senior Ministries 2018 events are filling up

Information is in a binder on the Senior Ministries table in Fellowship Hall. These fill up quickly; to attend, don’t delay. Your check is your reservation; Sarah will hold seats for those from church without
prepayment if needed (call 315-695-6696, leave a note in the Senior Ministries mailbox, or email Everyone attending programs must have a medical form on file. Pick one up at the table and return it to the Senior Ministries mailbox. The following trips are sold out: June 20 Braddock Lighthouse, August 11 Albany, & October 13 Arcade. There are 3 seats available for August 20 Merry Go Round, 7 for July 14 Colonial Belle, 16 for June 8 Dixieland Dinner Cruise, 14 for May 16 Lunch/Movie & 40 for April 20 50’s Dinner.

People of all ages invited to 50’s Dinner – April 20, 6 pm

The Men’s Club will cater dinner. The history of Onondaga Lake will

be presented by Onondaga Historical Society’s curator of history.

Project Christina donations support foster children

Bless foster children through Project Christina; donate stuffed toys, reusable tote bags, and books. Collection box is in Fellowship Hall.

Blessings in a Backpack collection: breakfast bars

Blessings in a Backpack is collecting breakfast bars during March and April. It is important that they do not contain nuts of any kind. Find store and brand suggestions at the collection display. Thank you for supporting hungry school children with this weekend meal program.
