Bible Studies, Through the Bible, will not meet until Monday, January 8 and Wednesday, January 10. The groups will begin the study of the Book of Judges. Our study on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. will meet again on January 14 and will complete their study on the Book of Deuteronomy.
Next Sunday, December 31st, we willl have only the two services: communion at 8:15 a.m. in our downstairs chapel and a 9:30 a.m. celebration in the sanctuary. You are invited to help us celebrate the ministry of Cathy Temple, who is retiring on December 31. A reception will be held in her honor following the 9:30 a.m. worship service.

Please remember to turn your envelope in if you haven’t
already done so. Thank you to everyone who participated in this effort to fund our family ministries programs.
Help feed school children in need
Olivebranch has a new project to feed children: join with St. Paul’s Lutheran church in the “Blessings in a Backpack” program, to supply inner-city children with food for the weekend, when they often go without. Each month specific food items will be collected. Look for information at a food collection container next to the purple food pantry barrel in the hallway.
2018 Offering Envelopes available
Please pick up your 2018 offering envelopes in Fellowship Hall. If you didn’t find them last week, please check again. They are arranged in alphabetical order by last name. If you leave by the front door, remember to pick up your envelopes. Some of you have new envelope numbers so we can reduce the number of boxes we order.
If you would like to purchase altar flowers in memory of honor of someone special in your life, please call the church office at 315–457-5180 to make arrangements. Dates for 2018 are filling up fast.
Please join us for Christmas Eve services: 5 p.m. Family Service, 7 and 9 p.m. Candlelight with choirs and special music, and Candlelight Communion service at 11 p.m.
Church shirts available
Stop in Fellowship Hall to purchase a long sleeve, blue, denim shirt embroidered with our church logo. Available in various sizes for $20. Proceeds support United Methodist Men’s mission projects.
Knit or crochet with Prayerful Threads
Members of the Prayerful Threads group create handmade scarves, hats and mittens for people in need, as well as baby blankets and sweaters for children that are baptized in our church. Join them when they meet on the first and third Sundays of each month at 2 p.m., or work on your own at home and coordinate with group facilitator Paula Lamberson. Call the church at 315–457-5180 for information.
Project Christina — toys for children
Purchase a stuffed toy at Kohl’s and tote bags for Onondaga County Social Services Foster Care Division. When children are removed from their home a toy is given to them. Please place them in the collection box in Fellowship Hall.
Let us know if you need a meal
If you are recovering from an illness, surgery or injury you may
appreciate some home-cooked meals. Volunteers provide meals to people facing such a need. If you would like to receive this assistance from church members, contact the church at 315–457-5180.
