ORDER OF WORSHIP FOR SUNDAY OCTOBER 29, 2017

INTROIT       Awesome God by Rich Mulllins       Alleluia Choir

QUESTIONS OF LIFE and FAITH

How serious are you about following God?

What spiritual demands have you struggled over and find difficulty complying with?

Are there expectations of faith that seem unreasonable?

PRELUDE     Ein feste Burg ist unser Gott  Michael Praetorius

*CALL TO WORSHIP (Ps 139:13–18)

One:  I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;

All:    You know me inside and out, you know every bone in my body;

One: You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted while in my mother’s womb.

All:    Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth; all the stages of my life were spread out before you,

One: Your thoughts — how rare, how beautiful!

All:    God, I’ll never comprehend them! Therefore I sing your praise and look to you to lead me in life.

HYMN Sing Praise to God Who Reigns Above, #126  (vs 1,2,&4)

*OPENING PRAYER

O Creator, as the season’s change I am more aware of the beauty and wonder of what you have made. The complexity and interconnectedness of everything astounds me. I wish I could say I come to worship with the same confidence the psalmist expressed when he stated his life was wonderful because I struggle sometimes with myself and my circumstance. Restore to me a sense of wonder and hope. May I leave this time knowing you are with me and will help me discover your unfolding plan for my life. Amen.
