Red Bird Mis­sion Craft Sale

Red Bird Mis­sion Crafts is bring­ing their won­der­ful crafts to our church. They will arrive Fri­day, June 2 and sell their crafts on Sat­ur­day (dur­ing the Chick­en Bar­be­cue) and Sun­day after church. The sale is spon­sored by the Mis­sion and Out­reach Com­mis­sion and WE NEED YOUR HELP. Sign-up in Fel­low­ship Hall. We also need a place for the two Red Bird staff mem­bers to stay. If you have room to spare, we need a place for four nights. Let the church office (315–4575180) know if you can help.

Vol­un­teers need­ed for June 3 BBQ

The 21st annu­al Chick­en BBQ will be held on June 3. Vol­un­teers are need­ed; please sign up on the bul­letin board in Fel­low­ship Hall. The com­mit­tee also needs a vol­un­teer with a small truck or SUV will­ing to help com­mit­tee mem­bers pick up box­es of chick­en from Nichols Super­mar­ket on Fri­day, June 2 at 4 p.m. and return bins of sea­soned chick­en by 7 p.m.. Brady Bread for sale today

Brady Bread — fresh baked loaves of cin­na­mon raisin bread — are on sale today for $3 per loaf in Fel­low­ship Hall dur­ing cof­fee hour. Pro­ceeds sup­port the min­istries of the Brady Faith Cen­ter — ped­als for pos­si­bil­i­ties and jail min­istry.

Annu­al Con­fer­ence Cel­e­bra­tions

5:30  – 6:30 p.m.: Syra­cuse City Church Wit­ness Event at Colum­bus Cir­cle in the city  of Syra­cuse. There will be music, tes­ti­mo­ny, and prayer.

Explore the Bible in 52 weeks

Begin­ning May 28, Pas­tor Bri­an Homan will lead a jour­ney through the Bible each Sun­day from Gen­e­sis through Rev­e­la­tion. He will explore major themes from each book of the Bible to help every­one get bet­ter acquaint­ed with the scrip­tures we use to form our faith. Peo­ple new to the faith and those long estab­lished as fol­low­ers of Christ strug­gle with know­ing and using the Bible. This for­mat will help every­one make bet­ter use of the gift of God’s Word.

Gath­er for exer­cise and fel­low­ship

Liv­er­pool First will offer a walk­ing, hik­ing and cycling min­istry this sum­mer. Walk­ers may gath­er in Ononda­ga Lake Park, Green Lakes State Park, Beaver Lake Nature Cen­ter, and the trails in Radis­son. For those who like to bicy­cle, The Unit­ed Methodist Cir­cuit Rid­ers will host two week­ly rides: one an easy fam­i­ly ride; the oth­er a chal­leng­ing ride for enthu­si­asts. Improve your fit­ness dur­ing these oppor­tu­ni­ties for fel­low­ship and prayer. Of course the health ben­e­fits are depen­dent upon whether we stop to enjoy ice cream. Food Dona­tions

On the first Sun­day of every month we cel­e­brate Holy Com­mu­nion at Liv­er­pool First UMC. We ask that dry and canned food dona­tions be brought to the altar rail before each ser­vice in sup­port of the Food Pantry housed at St. Joseph the Work­er Church in Liv­er­pool. We will do this every com­mu­nion Sun­day. I hope you will join us in this ser­vice of com­pas­sion.

Thank you for the thought­ful farewell potluck din­ner and cake. It has been a bless­ing to have a friend­ly and wel­com­ing church fam­i­ly to be a part of dur­ing my time at Syra­cuse Uni­ver­si­ty. Senior Min­istries events:

For those going on the motor coach trip to Clay­ton on Wednes­day, May 31st, please arrive at the church park­ing lot between 7:15 & 7:30 am.  The bus will arrive at 7:30 and depart prompt­ly at 8 am.  We will be arriv­ing @ The Clay­ton Antique Boat Muse­um @ 9:30 for a guid­ed tour until 11:30.  Lunch at The 1000 Islands Har­bor Hotel will be from 11:45- 1:30.  On your own time will be from 1:30 to 3:45.  We will board the bus at 3:45 and depart @ 4 and arrive back @ LFUMC @ 5:30 pm.  Be pre­pared for any kind of weath­er!

Project Christi­na — toys for chil­dren

Would you like to help a child in cri­sis? Pur­chase a $5 stuffed toy from Kohl’s where the pro­ceeds go to Golisano’s Chil­dren’s Hos­pi­tal, and the toy is giv­en to the Ononda­ga Coun­ty Social Ser­vices Fos­ter Care Divi­sion. When chil­dren  are removed from their home a toy will be giv­en to them to help ease their pain. We also accept  new stuffed toys pur­chased else­where, books, and reusable child-friend­ly tote bags. There is a red col­lec­tion box in Fel­low­ship Hall.

5 Cents Makes a Dif­fer­ence!

As you pick up from sum­mer pic­nics and par­ties, think about bring­ing your 5 cent return­able bot­tles and cans to either the church, or MSK Returns on Rt. 57 near Wet­zel Rd.  Our church has an account there, and all mon­ey earned goes direct­ly to sup­port our Chris­t­ian Edu­ca­tion pro­grams.  All returns must be emp­ty and clean.  Our win­ter check just received totaled $90!  Thanks for your dona­tions!
