Olive­branch Wom­en’s group meets April 24

All women are invit­ed for the pro­gram Bloom For Spring — Pat Mur­ray, a Mary Kay Con­sul­tant, will share tech­niques for clean­ing and nur­tur­ing your skin, as well as apply­ing make­up. The dead­line to make reser­va­tions for the din­ner has passed but all women are invit­ed to the 7:15 p.m. pro­gram. Please still make a reser­va­tion so the speak­er brings sup­plies for all by con­tact­ing the church at 315–457-5180 or kate.smith@liverpoolfirstumc.org.

New sup­port group to meet Wednes­day evenings

A new faith-based sup­port group is form­ing for peo­ple suf­fer­ing from anx­i­ety or depres­sion. The mis­sion is to give peo­ple a place to be able to speak freely about men­tal health dis­or­ders, and to learn about and accept them, as well as to learn cop­ing skills. The group will meet Wednes­day evenings at 6:30 p.m. begin­ning May 10. Con­tact the church at 315–457-5180  or lfumc@liverpoolfirstumc.org for infor­ma­tion.

Men­tors for Col­lege Stu­dents

The Hos­pi­tal­i­ty Team thanks mem­bers who sup­port­ed col­lege stu­dents dur­ing the aca­d­e­m­ic year with cards, notes, prayers, and good­ies. This is prob­a­bly the last week to send notes, as final exam week for some ends April 28 and for oth­ers May 5.

Altar Flow­ers

The flow­ers on the altar every Sun­day are an impor­tant part of our wor­ship ser­vice. If you would like to give a gift of flow­ers to hon­or a loved one, a birth­day or anniver­sary, or in mem­o­ry of some­one, please con­tact the church office at 315.457.5180.

Plant sale — May 13

The Mis­sion & Out­reach com­mit­tee will con­duct a plant sale in  John­son Park on May 13,  9 a.m. — 3 p.m. offer­ing hang­ing plants and pot­ted gera­ni­ums, just in time for Mother’s Day. You may pur­chase qual­i­ty flow­ers while sup­port­ing Mis­sion and Out­reach sum­mer projects. Cash or checks are accept­ed but no charge cards, please.

Senior Min­istries events:

Dead­line for reser­va­tions for the May 20 Skaneate­les Lake cruise, lunch at the Sher­wood Inn and Cream­ery Muse­um tour is TODAYPlease leave your checks (with menu choice writ­ten in memo area) in Senior Min­istries mail­box. Num­bers will be called into the venue on April 24.

Three bus trips are SOLD OUT (June 7 Fly Creek/Herkimer, Sep­tem­ber 13 Homer/Cortland & Sep­tem­ber 23 Mer­ry Go Round).

Sun­day, June 25 — 2 p.m. — Syra­cuse Stage’s pro­duc­tion of “Ring of Fire” the music of John­ny Cash. $32 per per­son.

Our May 31 motor coach trip to Clay­ton has seats avail­able. There will be a guid­ed tour of the Antique Boat Muse­um, buf­fet lunch at the 1000 Islands Har­bor Hotel and On Your Own Time. All ages are wel­come.

Thanks from the Hos­pi­tal­i­ty Team to all who donat­ed items for the East­er Bas­kets for our mem­bers at home and in health care facil­i­ties. There were enough items of all vari­eties to make full and spe­cial bas­kets for 36 per­sons that we like to remem­ber. The bas­kets were deliv­ered between Palm Sun­day and East­er by the Mem­ber Care Vis­it­ing Team mem­bers.

Snow­birds invit­ed — May 16

The Hos­pi­tal­i­ty Team invites snow­birds to a wel­come back recep­tion of straw­ber­ries, angel food cake, and whipped cream at 7 p.m. on May 16 in the Memo­r­i­al Lounge. A snow­bird is any­one who spent any amount of time in a warmer cli­mate dur­ing the cold win­ter months.
