HOLY WEEK SCHEDULE

Wednes­day, April 12, Lenten Com­mu­nion Ser­vice at 7 p.m.

Holy Thurs­day, April 13, Observe an ancient ser­vice of Tene­brae, known as a ser­vice of shad­ows, at 7 p.m. We progress with Jesus through the evening before his arrest. Holy Com­mu­nion shall be offered.

Good Fri­day, April 14, at noon we will host the church­es of Liv­er­pool for a com­mu­ni­ty-wide com­mem­o­ra­tion of the events of Christ’s cru­ci­fix­ion.

Res­ur­rec­tion Sun­day, April 16, We will offer a SONRISE Ser­vice in John­son Park at 6:30 a.m., designed and led by mem­bers of our Con­fir­ma­tion Class. Our reg­u­lar ser­vices will be held at their nor­mal time and fea­tures our choirs and joy of our hope found in the res­ur­rec­tion. 8:15 a.m. in the Chapel, 9:30 & 11 a.m. in the Sanc­tu­ary.

New sup­port group to meet Wednes­day evenings

A new faith-based sup­port group is form­ing for peo­ple suf­fer­ing from anx­i­ety or depres­sion. The mis­sion is to give peo­ple a place to be able to speak freely about men­tal health dis­or­ders, and to learn about and accept them, as well as to learn cop­ing skills. The group will meet Wednes­day evenings at 6:30 p.m. begin­ning after East­er. Con­tact the church at 315–457-5180  or lfumc@liverpoolfirstumc.org for infor­ma­tion.

Be the Change — April 29

A week­end of music and ser­vice. Help serve: vet­er­ans, at risk women, peo­ple expe­ri­enc­ing home­less­ness, refugees or fam­i­lies affect­ed by dis­abil­i­ties. Go to beautifulmessministries.com/bethechange and

Lenten Wor­ship — April 12

You are invit­ed to Wednes­day evening Lenten wor­ship with Holy Com­mu­nion at 7 p.m. April 12. Come and be blessed with this Lenten gift of renew­al.

Spring plant sale — May 13

The Mis­sion & Out­reach com­mit­tee is prepar­ing for a plant sale! It will be at John­son Park on Sat­ur­day, May 13,  9 a.m. — 3 p.m. with beau­ti­ful hang­ing plants and gera­ni­ums, just in time for Mother’s Day. You may pur­chase qual­i­ty flow­ers while also sup­port­ing Mis­sion and Out­reach sum­mer projects. Cash or checks are accept­ed but no charge cards, please.

Senior Min­istries events:

The April 18 Movie Night at Spaghet­ti Ware­house has been can­celled.

The dead­line for Sat­ur­day, May 20 Skaneate­les Lake Cruise, lun­cheon at the Sher­wood Inn & guid­ed tour of the Cream­ery is Sun­day, April 16.

Sun­day, June 25 2 p.m. — Syra­cuse Stage’s pro­duc­tion of “Ring of Fire” the music of John­ny Cash. There are 29 tick­ets avail­able at $32 per per­son. These will go quick­ly. For details on these events and the rest of 2017, please check out our table in Fel­low­ship Hall. Fly­ers for each event can be found in the binder on the table.

Project Christi­na — toys for chil­dren

Would you like to help a child in cri­sis? Pur­chase a $5 stuffed toy from Kohl’s where the pro­ceeds go to Golisano’s Chil­dren’s Hos­pi­tal, and the toy is giv­en to the Ononda­ga Coun­ty Social Ser­vices Fos­ter Care Divi­sion. When chil­dren  are removed from their home a toy will be giv­en to them to help ease their pain. We also accept  new stuffed toys pur­chased else­where, books, and reusable child-friend­ly tote bags. There is a red col­lec­tion box in Fel­low­ship Hall.
