CHORAL INTROIT Lord Throughout These Forty Days — David Ashley White
CALL TO WORSHIP (Adapted from Gathered By Love Lavon Bayler, 2001)
One: God is ready to restore us, The creator is waiting to claim us as God’s own.
All: We have come to be in God’s presence,
We have gathered to receive God’s steadfast love.
One: Gather in silent awe before the source of all things.
Open your hearts to the Lord who is waiting.
All: We wait to receive God’s love and mercy.
We open our hearts to welcome God’s peace.
One: God will give what is good for our lives.
God restores us to faithfulness and righteousness
All: We come knocking, asking and searching.
We seek answers to our prayers.
Ever present God; we come this morning expecting to meet you here. We are grateful for your constant attention, care, and love. Guide us during this worship service to be open to your teachings and desires. You have promised that you will direct our paths so we come seeking your will for each of our lives. We seek a closer relationship with you, so may our prayers, our goals, and our lives reflect this outcome. Guide us and give us courage to live according to your divine will and teach us to be open to your direction. In Jesus’ name Amen.
