Shrove Tuesday pancake supper: Feb. 28
The Outreach Committee is serving a pancake supper from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Feb. 28 to celebrate Shrove Tuesday, the last day before the season of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday. We pray that the spiritual disciplines we take on in Lent will likewise strengthen us for the ministry work to which God calls us. There will be a short prayer service at 6:30 p.m. A free will offering will be accepted to support church mission projects.
Note to Mentors of College Students
Thank you to all members who have been regularly sending notes, prayers, scripture, and treats to our college students. There are lots of opportunities this semester to reach out to them with cards for Valentine’s Day, St Patrick’s, Easter, and encouragement for final exams. Final exams begin for some at the end of April and in the very beginning of May, as college graduations are the first two weeks of May, so all final messages to them should be sent by the end of April.
Ushers are needed to assist on Sunday mornings. Please sign up on the sheet posted in Fellowship Hall, or contact Ed Betts at 373‑7718 or Tom Pelkey at 559‑3832.
Campbell’s Labels for Education program
The Labels for Education program has ended. If you have Campbell’s products at home that carry the cut-off label, please turn those in by May 30. Redemption ends in August. The church will still be a collection point for other “education” labels, so please continue to save and turn in.
