Focus on faith at
communion worship during Advent
All are welcome to attend worship with communion on each of the Sundays in Advent at 4 p.m. The services provide a time to refocus and renew faith in the midst of the busy Advent-Christmas season. They are led by Pastor Candace Lawrence and organist Bill Young. Invite family, friends, and neighbors, and come and worship: December 4, 11, and 18.
Christmas family project
We are providing Christmas for three families in need. Please check our Christmas Family tree adorned with cards listing an item desired by a particular family member. Some cards will simply list a dollar amount to donate to provide a grocery card or pay a utility bill. Checks should be made out to the church with a notation “Christmas Family.” Your generosity will be appreciated and though they may not know you gave they will know God’s people from this church cared for them. The deadline to donate gifts and checks is Sunday, December 18. Thank you!

Gifts for Baby Jesus
The UMW is collecting baby items for the Teen MOPS group that meets in our building. A list of items needed is posted on a designated, holiday wrapped box in the foyer. Donations will be collected through the holiday season and will conclude on Christmas Day.
Advent Devotions available by email
During Advent, focus on the gift of Jesus by reading daily devotions provided by The Society of St. Andrew. As you reflect, set aside a small gift each day to support the society’s efforts to provide food for hungry people in this country. Take a coin box if you wish, or make checks out to the Liverpool First United Methodist Church with “Society of St. Andrew” in the memo line. Donations can be brought to church any time in December. If you wish to receive a daily devotion in your e‑mail, go to www.endhunger.org to sign up.
Steve and Donna Auyer will host a Holiday Open House on Sunday, December 11 starting at 1 p.m. RSVP by December 9 at 451‑7359 if you would like to attend. Any adult is welcome.
Love Lights contributions support the food bank

Looking for a Great Christmas Gift?
Stop by the United Methodist Men table in Fellowship Hall after today’s service and you may find the Christmas gift you’ve been looking for. Available are long sleeve denim shirts with an embroidered logo of the church with the purple doors and dog beds that have been repurposed from old suitcases. Proceeds benefit the Men’s Club mission projects including tuition support for Maxo, the Haitian student they sponsor.
Hand-drawn pen and ink sketches
The Dinner/Fundraising Committee is selling hand-drawn pen and ink sketches matted and framed and ready for giving. Submit a clear digital photo of your pet, or home, camp, business, etc. or favorite scene, and it will be turned into a framed 11 x 14” finished gift in your choice of mat color. People and pets can be added to this sketch if desired. You can also order custom Christmas cards. See our display in Fellowship Hall. Due to the lead time needed to make your sketch by Christmas, plan to get your order in as soon as possible. Pre-made sketches of our church and local landmarks are also available as prints or note cards.
