Olivebranch meets at 5:30 for appetizers, dinner ($5) and program. The program is the Second Chance Canine Adoption Shelter, which pulls dogs from death row in the City of Syracuse to give them a second chance. Selected inmates at Jamesville Correctional Facility volunteer their time at the shelter, cleaning kennels and training dogs. The dogs are placed up for adoption. The program stands up to its name in giving both homeless dogs and inmates a second chance. Board Member Stefanie Heath and a former inmate who participated in the program will share their experiences. During the meeting there will be a silent auction of baked goods and other homemade edibles. At the end of the evening, the highest bidders will take home goodies. This replaces the annual auction of treasures. Reservation deadine is noon on Nov. 25, call Kate Smith at 457‑5180 or email
