Annu­al church con­fer­ence — today at 12:30

Our annu­al church con­fer­ence is held today at 12:30 PM. All are wel­come to attend.

All mem­bers can vote on the bud­get and church lead­er­ship.

Elec­tion Day Pas­ta Din­ner

The Mis­sion & Out­reach Com­mit­tee will serve an Elec­tion Day Pas­ta Din­ner on Nov. 8 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Please come either before or after you vote! Con­sid­er help­ing with the din­ner and greet­ing com­mu­ni­ty mem­bers who have also done their “civic duty”. You may sign up on the list post­ed on the bul­letin board in Fel­low­ship Hall to assist with kitchen duties, set­ting up or serv­ing. Pro­ceeds fund the com­mit­tee’s sup­port of local char­i­ties such as Tiny Homes, Step Up Moment, Matthew 25 Farm and the Food Pantry.

Pan­cakes are Com­ing — Sun­day Nov. 13

The Liv­er­pool Unit­ed Methodist Men will host one of their world famous pan­cake break­fasts on Sun­day, Novem­ber 13, from 8:30 to 11 a.m. in Fel­low­ship Hall. There is no fee for the break­fast, but please con­sid­er mak­ing a gen­er­ous free-will offer­ing which will be used to con­tin­ue tuition pay­ments for “Maxo” Luc­serne, the Hait­ian stu­dent we have been spon­sor­ing for sev­er­al years. Menu includes pan­cakes, sausages, apple sauce and bev­er­ages.

LIFE youth pro­gram meets Wednes­day evenings

Any­one 7th through 12th grade is wel­come to attend the LIFE youth pro­gram Wednes­day nights from 6:30–8 p.m. at church. Youths gath­er to dis­cov­er and strength­en their faith jour­ney through dis­cus­sions and activ­i­ties build­ing faith and friend­ships. Friends are wel­come to attend. New Fel­low­ship Clubs form­ing

Fel­low­ship Clubs is a new group start­ing soon at Liv­er­pool First. Fel­low­ship Clubs is for adults of any age, sin­gle or mar­ried. Each club will meet to share a meal and fel­low­ship time togeth­er in a member’s home or at a restau­rant once a month. This is a won­der­ful oppor­tu­ni­ty to meet new peo­ple! You do not need to be a mem­ber of the church to join. Please see Melis­sa Kar­nath in Fel­low­ship Hall between the 9:30 and 11 a.m. ser­vices for infor­ma­tion and to sign up. Senior Min­istries Upcom­ing Events

For those attend­ing the Novem­ber 5 bus trip to Auburn for lunch at the Spring­side Inn and Mer­ry Go Round’s pro­duc­tion of “Smokey Joe’s Cafe”, arrive at LFUMC at 10 a.m. for depar­ture at 10:30; return­ing around 5:30 p.m.

Thurs­day, Novem­ber 10 Spaghet­ti Ware­house Din­ner The­ater

There are seats avail­able for the din­ner the­ater at Spaghet­ti Ware­house on Thurs­day, Novem­ber 10. Acme Mys­tery The­ater presents “The Sound of Mur­der”. Meals choic­es (to be giv­en at the table) are chick­en parmi­giana, spaghet­ti feast or chick­en alfre­do. Cost per per­son is $30.  Arrive at 6:30 p.m. with  dinner/theater from 7–10 p.m. If you need a ride or can pro­vide trans­porta­tion, please let Sarah know.

Wednes­day, Decem­ber 14 — Christ­mas Lun­cheon — Noon at church

Catered by Tabatha’s.  Menu:  Baked chick­en, mac­a­roni & cheese, steamed veg­eta­bles, roast­ed sweet pota­toes with maple syrup, gar­den sal­ad, din­ner rolls, dessert & bev­er­age. $25 per per­son plus canned food item for the food pantry. A musi­cal pre­sen­ta­tion under the direc­tion of Becky Dun­stone will include: ring­ing chimes, singing car­ols, learn­ing the his­to­ry of some car­ols and vio­lin solos. This will be a won­der­ful way to end our fan­tas­tic year.

Sun­day, Jan­u­ary 8, 2017 — Syra­cuse Stage’s Pro­duc­tion of Mary Pop­pins

820 East Gene­see Street, Syra­cuse.  Mati­nee at 2 p.m.  $35 per per­son, $15 for chil­dren 18 and under (you may bring your grand­chil­dren or the spe­cial child in your life). Checks must be received by Novem­ber 27. Your own trans­porta­tion is required but car­pool­ing can be arranged. Young Life Gourmet Soup Din­ner — Novem­ber 4

Young Life is spon­sor­ing a Gourmet Soup Din­ner on Fri­day, Novem­ber 4, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. for $10 fol­lowed by an enter­tain­ing con­cert by The Har­mo­ny Katz. This annu­al fundrais­er sup­ports Young Life teens with dis­abil­i­ties here in Liv­er­pool. A love offer­ing will be tak­en dur­ing the con­cert. For details con­tact Dee Ker­by at 315–882-7959.

Dis­cov­er­ing our Gifts Bible Study

Dis­cov­er and under­stand your unique­ness and pur­pose! An adult study on RELEASING OUR SPIRITUAL GIFTS is offered Wednes­days at 7 p.m. Explore what the Bible teach­es are the spir­i­tu­al gifts, their pur­pose and how we can find joy by build­ing upon them. Includes a spir­i­tu­al gifts inven­to­ry to help clar­i­fy which gifts might be part of your make­up.

Track­ing snow­birds

A snow­bird is any­one who trav­els to a warmer cli­mate dur­ing our cold sea­son. Please leave your name, dates that you will be gone, and address if you have one while away, with the church office. Your church would like to keep in touch with you and put you on the list to receive com­mu­ni­ca­tions while you are away and to noti­fy you in the spring of the annu­al straw­ber­ry and whipped cream social hour when you return.

Work­shop on Africa Uni­ver­si­ty — Novem­ber 19

Bish­op McCleskey, Exec­u­tive Vice Pres­i­dent of the  Africa Uni­ver­si­ty Devel­op­ment Office, will lead a work­shop on Africa Uni­ver­si­ty on Novem­ber 19, address­ing its ties to the Upper New York  Con­fer­ence, with high­lights on local involve­ment and resources, new things that are hap­pen­ing at the Uni­ver­si­ty, and what we can do to stay con­nect­ed to this min­istry. This work­shop will be held at Cicero Unit­ed Methodist Church from 1–3 p.m. Refresh­ments will be served.

        Food pantry needs 

In addi­tion to pro­vid­ing food, the food pantry at St. Joseph the Work­er Church dis­trib­utes tooth­paste, tooth brush­es, soap & sham­poo. Please put them in the con­tain­er labeled food pantry (locat­ed in the main cor­ri­dor of the church). The need is always great.

Would you like to make a hol­i­day paint­ing?

We invite all women for an after­noon out on Sun­day, Novem­ber 20 from 2 to 4 p.m. Make a hol­i­day paint­ing for your home, have cof­fee and dessert, and fel­low­ship with oth­er women at LFUMC. Come alone or bring a friend. Sign up sheets are post­ed in Fel­low­ship Hall. A $12 project sup­ply fee is due upon reg­is­tra­tion. Some­one will be avail­able on Sun­days from 10:30–11 a.m. to col­lect mon­ey at the reg­is­tra­tion table. Child care will be avail­able if need­ed. Live your faith — con­nect with a col­lege stu­dent

Sign up to sup­port a col­lege stu­dent by send­ing a card, scrip­ture, prayer, or note once a month, now through April. Treats, such as a cof­fee card, sticky notes, or snacks once a semes­ter are also spe­cial. Last year one stu­dent cried for joy when she felt she was not for­got­ten by her church back home. The list of stu­dents, col­lege, and address­es are on the bul­letin board beside Pas­tor B’s Office. Project is coor­di­nat­ed by Mem­ber Care Com­mis­sion.

Can We “Count on You”?

The Finance Com­mit­tee is look­ing for vol­un­teers to help count the Sun­day wor­ship ser­vice offer­ing col­lec­tions. This requires you to be avail­able to help on one Sun­day morn­ing every two months, begin­ning in Jan­u­ary 2017. If you are will­ing to help please call Rich Ertinger at 263‑5672 or e‑mail him at

Altar Flow­ers

We only have one date left (Dec. 4) to order Altar Flow­ers for this year. We are start­ing to fill up for next year so if you have a spe­cial date that you would like to have flow­ers, now is the time to order them. Please call Cathy Tem­ple at the church office (457‑5180) to order them and make sure you get your spe­cial date reserved.
