QUESTIONS OF LIFE & FAITH

Who Is Jesus to you?

How is His claim for leadership in your life played out?

What reasons would you give for following Him?

PRELUDE   Please be in silent reflection as we prepare ourselves for worship.

CALL TO WORSHIP

One: Jesus said, “I am the door.”

All: Through him we enter into a new life.

One:  Jesus said, “I am the light of the world.”

All: We are enlightened by his presence and have the light of life.

One: Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the life.”

All: His word of truth shows us the way that leads to life.

One:  Jesus said, “I am the vine.”

All: From him we branch out to do his work.

One:  Jesus said, “I am the bread of life.”

All: Our souls are nourished by his word.

One:   Jesus said, “I am the good shepherd.”

All  He guides us and protects us. We look to the Good Shepherd to save us from  evil and lead us to abundant life.

OUR COMMON PRAYER (unison)

We come together this morning to worship. We come as seekers, wondering who this Jesus is. We come as students, full of questions about Jesus’ unconventional teachings. We come as skeptics, unsure of Jesus’ unexplainable miracles and outlandish claims.

We come as followers, longing for the wisdom and strength to follow Jesus more faithfully. We come as we are, with our faith and our doubts, our stories and our questions. We come to worship!
