Support foster children through Project Christina

The number of children being placed into foster care is now the highest in many years. Social workers give toys from Project Christina to these children when they are removed from their homes. It gives the children something to hold on to during this traumatic experience. If you would like to help ease the pain of a child, please place a stuffed toy in the box in Fellowship Hall. Deliveries are made every few months. Thank you for making a difference.

Save October 15 for a Women’s Bible Study and  Breakfast

Women are invited to attend a Women of the Bible breakfast at the church on October 15. Enjoy a buffet, fellowship, and learn about Phoebe — one of the many influential women of the Bible.

Help provide housewares to refugees

This year the Refugee Resettlement program from Interfaith Works in Syracuse has welcomed 600 new Americans. In the next few months they anticipate an additional 200 from Somalia, the Congo, Syria and Iraq. Help is needed to set up households. Look for an article in the autumn All of Us listing things needed and where to put them; or see the poster on the church Information Center bulletin board.

“Brady Bread” supports two local programs

Do you like homemade cinnamon raisin bread? Do you believe in jail ministry? Do you believe in helping the homeless? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then look for “Brady Bread” at our church this fall. Purchase a loaf of homemade cinnamon raisin bread for $3, and the proceeds help inmates in the Onondaga County Justice Center and their families, or “Pedal for Possibilities” that helps homeless people earn their bike, helmet, and a lock to provide them with transportation, exercise and community.

Spirit Singers Children’s Choir to rehearse at 8:45 a.m.

NEW TIME for the Spirit Singers Choir rehearsal this Fall will be from 8:45–9:15 a.m. on Sundays, beginning September 11. We are blessed to have a wonderful choir for our children and need enough time to adequately rehearse. We hope that parents and children will be willing to make this commitment to their children’s musical worship experience!

Volunteers needed to provide meals for the Teen MOPS

Our church hosts meetings for a Teen MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) group, and they could use our help in providing the young mothers, their children and the volunteers that facilitate the program with meals. Volunteers may either prepare a meal and drop if off at church on the meeting day, or donate gift cards to grocery stores or restaurants. Contact Kay Phillips at 451‑6619 if you would like to help.
