Local Mission Opportunities
Mathew 25 Farm — July 16
Saturday, July 16, we will help at the Mathew 25 Farm picking, weeding, and doing whatever they need. Mathew 25 Farm grows and distributes fresh food for those in need in Central New York. It is a wonderful mission and they could really use our help. We will meet at the church at 8 a.m. There is sign up sheet in Fellowship Hall today. Join us in mission and help feed the hungry.
Step Up Moment — donate snacks, encourage fitness
We are collecting healthy snacks and water for the Step Up Moment program at the Rescue Mission in Syracuse. There is a drop box at the rear entrance to the church. The program is a free exercise program for the Rescue Mission and the local community. If a participant attends five sessions they receive a food card at Nojaims Market where they can buy $50 of healthy foods. Kate Waltman (the founder of the program) needs money to buy the food cards and people to encourage the participants and even exercise with them, if there is room, along with the healthy snacks. Sessions are on Wednesday nights. If you want to help, contact Mike Nortman at email@example.com
Tiny Houses for Good — July 30
We have committed to help Andrew Lunetta and his Tiny Homes for Good project on Saturday July 30. We meet at church at 8 a.m. and take the bus to the project to help clear property, paint, clean and whatever Andrew needs to help him with the second home to house the homeless. We have 11 people signed up already and if we get more than 15 we will take two bus loads. A sign-up sheet is in Fellowship Hall. If you want to learn more about Tiny Homes for Good sign up and give us your email. Housing the homeless is a worthy mission.

Support foster children through Project Christina
For those of you who have purchased stuffed toys for “Project Christina,” thank you. The need is increasing because there are consistent numbers of children that are removed from their home weekly and bigger sibling groups involved. Social workers use the toys to calm the children during the interview process which is extremely traumatic. You can be assured that your generous heart is making a difference.
Food Sense program
Food Sense is a program of the Food Bank of Central NY created to help individuals and families stretch food dollars. Each month participants register at St Matthew’s Episcopal Church at 900 Vine St. The cost is $15.50 to be prepaid in cash or food stamps. Please see Kay Phillips in Fellowship Hall today for information or call Amy Thackston at 652‑5990.
Video On Demand- View and Share our Worship
The church makes video recordings of the 9:30 a.m. services. If you would like a copy of the video in DVD format you may request one by filling out one of the request cards in the pews and dropping it in the offering plate. Let us know the date of the service you would like and whether you want the complete service or just the Pastor’s Meditation, and your name and phone number of course, and we’ll have your video ready for pickup in the church office within a week (or so).
