Bring flowers to
honor loved ones on May 29
Honor persons who have served or are serving in the military or loved ones by bringing flowers to add to a Memorial Day bouquet on Sunday, May 29. The bouquet will be made into arrangements for our home-bound members. Please sign up in Fellowship Hall if you can deliver flowers to a member at their home during the week of May 29. Donations of bud vases are also appreciated.

Join us for the
Memorial Day Parade Monday May 30
We will be walking the parade and handing out candy and VBS information to children along the parade route. Children, strollers and wagons are welcome & encouraged! Meet at the purple doors at 8:50 a.m. and we’ll walk over to the parade area together!
Food Sense program
Food Sense is a program of the Food Bank of Central NY created to help individuals and families stretch food dollars. Each month participants register at St Matthew’s Episcopal Church at 900 Vine St. The cost is $15.50 to be prepaid in cash or food stamps. Learn history at Women’s Group’s May 23 meeting
The May 23 Olivebranch Women’s Group program features WWII history: Safe Haven — A Shelter for Holocaust Refugees. This shelter was located at Fort Ontario in Oswego. Presented by Safe Haven Museum President George Demass, the talk includes stories of triumph and suffering by refugees who came as guests of Franklin D. Roosevelt. Appetizers at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m., program at 7 p.m. Cost for the light catered dinner is $5. Call Pat Cupernall at 457‑6730 to make a dinner reservation.
Celebrate Pastor Alison’s ministry on June 12
Celebrate Pastor Alison’s ministry as she prepares to transition to a new appointment as pastor of Lansing United Methodist Church. Pastor Alison will give the sermon at the 9:30 a.m. service on June 12 and a celebration will follow. There will be no 11 a.m. service that day. Menu includes vegetable and cheese platters as appetizers, followed by vegetarian ziti, meatballs, antipasto salads, Italian bread, cottage cheese and cupcakes (Alison’s favorite). Cost: $10/adult; $5/children 12 and under. Paid reservations required by June 5. There will be a “Card Shower” beginning June 1 — bring in cards for Pastor Alison and leave them in the collection basket in Fellowship Hall. Please share your name and favorite Bible verse or hymn, or a favorite way to serve God through mission, and a short note about why that verse, hymn, or mission is your favorite. If you have a photo that you prefer to the one in the church directory, please include that too. She will collect these on June 12, There will be a table set up in Fellowship Hall on May 22 and 29 for making reservations.
PEACE Inc. senior luncheons
Our church hosts a PEACE Senior luncheon every Monday at noon. The meals are delicious and the conversations lively. The menu for the month is found at www.peace-caa.org. Please consider trying the luncheon and encourage your friends to come too. Call 470‑3331 to reserve a meal

Worship videos available
A limited number of DVDs containing the joint performance of “How Beautiful”, performed by the Chancel Choir and the Spirit Dancers at the 9:30 a.m. worship service on May 8 are available. Also, copies of the May 15, 9:30 a.m. service that includes the reception of new members into the church as well as the “Red Balloon Special” Children’s Moment are available at the Information Center in the main hallway of the church.
Matthew 25 farm needs your help
There are so many, many jobs that need to be done on the farm. We could really use your help! We need helping hands in the fields to plant seeds. We need someone that can weld and/or mechanically inclined to fix our broken equipment. Most importantly we need you to care, and please advocate. Tell anyone and everyone about the farm, we are here to help everyone, but we can’t do it without your help! Call 315–558-2212 for information.
Prayer Quilt Ministries
The prayer quilts on the altar have been crafted by the Tuesday morning quilters. They are delivered by the Pastors to persons needing comfort and prayers. Each week there is one hanging in the main hall and we encourage you to offer a prayer over the quilt. Your donations of fabric and funds are appreciated.
Support foster children through Project Christina
Kohl’s is featuring a new line of plush toys. Please consider purchasing one for a foster child. Information and the collection box are in Fellowship Hall. We also accept tote bags for the children to use to carry their belongings.

Register now for Upper New York Camp & Retreat Ministries Summer Camps. The variety of programs being offered are designed to encourage spiritual growth, and renewal. Pick up a brochure from the information center in the church corridor.

VBS Mega Sports Camp — July 11–15 Evenings
If you have experience in Basketball, Soccer or Cheerleading, we need you! We need coaches to help out our children during VBS! Please sign up to help in Fellowship Hall or at the church Information Desk! We are also in search of sporting equipment to borrow. If you have a portable basketball goal, soccer goals, soccer balls or basketballs we could borrow, please let Karen Gloyd know or call the church at 457‑5180. Help make this an AWESOME week for the children!
Volunteer for the barbecue
Saturday, June 4
The Dinner/Fundraising Committee will lead a BBQ team preparing for our 20th Annual June BBQ. This is a major fund-raiser for the church, that requires lots of participation to make happen. There are BBQ sub-teams that divide up the responsibilities. We need approximately 90 volunteers for planning, set-up, prep, cooking, serving, and clean-up. There is a spot for you somewhere! We are especially looking for younger members to “learn the ropes”. Sign up in Fellowship Hall. Every step in the process from Thursday, June 2, through Saturday, June 4, is important. “Many hands make light work.”
