Olive­branch wom­en’s group meets Jan. 25

All women are invit­ed for appe­tiz­ers at 5:30 p.m., din­ner at 6 and pro­gram at 7. Expec­ta­tions of the Nation­al Polit­i­cal Process in the next 10 months by Bill San­ford, con­sul­tant at Brown and San­ford and pri­or chair­man of the Ononda­ga Coun­ty Leg­is­la­ture. Where do we go from here? What to expect? How do women influ­ence the plat­forms and how can women par­tic­i­pate in the process? Why does it mat­ter? All women are encour­aged to come with ques­tions that they are won­der­ing about relat­ed to cau­cus­es, pri­maries, elec­tion pri­maries, bal­lots, wom­en’s issues, etc. The cost is $5 for a light catered din­ner.           Women’s Bible Study 

        The Bat­tle Plan for Prayer 

Devel­op a deep­er walk with God as you seek the Lord. The Bat­tle Plan for Prayer equips believ­ers to cre­ate their own prayer strat­e­gy and be spe­cif­ic and strate­gic in prayer. This 8‑week study is on Sun­days from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. start­ing on Jan. 31, meet­ing in the Junior High Class Room down­stairs, and is led by Ali­son Mapes. Dis­trict Train­ing Day — Jan. 30

Every­one inter­est­ed in devel­op­ing skills to sup­port the mis­sion of the Unit­ed Methodist Church is invit­ed to par­tic­i­pate in a day of train­ing on Sat­ur­day, Jan. 30, at Cicero Unit­ed Methodist Church, 8416 Brew­er­ton Rd. in Cicero. Call 457‑5180 for infor­ma­tion.

Prayer Part­ners invite you to be a part of the group that meets Mon­days at the church, from 3 to 4 p.m. Learn­ing how to call on God in prayer is one way that we devel­op our rela­tion­ship with God. We receive requests from many dif­fer­ent sources  and for many dif­fer­ent needs, such as heal­ing, com­fort, strength, wis­dom, pro­tec­tion, etc.  If you are inter­est­ed please call Pas­tor Ali­son at 457‑5180, Pamela Phillips at 451‑1087 or Barb Hal­stead at 622‑0752.

 

Dis­cov­er the Bible study 

Join a dis­ci­ple­ship study, Dis­cov­er the Bible. Dis­cus­sion groups meet Sun­days at 11 a.m. and Wednes­days at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. This overview of the Bible helps par­tic­i­pants to bet­ter under­stand its con­tents and grow deep­er in their rela­tion­ship with Christ.Contact the church at 457‑5180 or lfumc@liverpoolfirstumc.org to sign up.

Child­care help need­ed

We are look­ing for child­care helpers dur­ing Sun­day Bible Study from 12:20 to 2 p.m. start­ing Jan. 31. The goal is 4–8 vol­un­teers to take one or two weeks. Toys & activ­i­ties are already here, all you need to do is show up and play! Please e‑mail Ali­son Mapes at mapesfam506@yahoo.com to vol­un­teer in this impor­tant role.

Vol­un­teers need­ed to pro­vide meals for the Teen MOPS

Our church hosts meet­ings for a Teen MOPS (Moth­ers of Preschool­ers) group, and they could use our help in pro­vid­ing the young moth­ers, their chil­dren and the vol­un­teers that facil­i­tate the pro­gram with meals. Vol­un­teers may either pre­pare a meal and drop if off at church on the meet­ing day, or donate gift cards to area gro­cery stores or restau­rants, so the MOPS lead­ers can pur­chase or order food. Women’s Min­istry — Fri­day morn­ing study 

A Bible study on the book of Eph­esians is held Fri­day morn­ings at 9:30. We study, pray and devel­op won­der­ful friend­ships. The book of  Eph­esians is loaded with spir­i­tu­al knowl­edge.  The Women’s Min­istry is ongo­ing, so come any time. Rosanne McDougall is the facil­i­ta­tor.

Sup­port fos­ter chil­dren through Project Christi­na

Pro­vide stuffed toys and reusable shop­ping bags to chil­dren who must be removed from their homes. Con­sid­er pur­chas­ing a $5 stuffed ani­mal from the Kohl’s Care for Kids pro­gram. The Coun­ty Social Ser­vices Agency also needs dia­pers, paci­fiers & bot­tles.  Kohl’s is fea­tur­ing a new line of plush toys.  Please con­sid­er a mak­ing a gift to a deserv­ing Fos­ter Child. Infor­ma­tion is on the table in Fel­low­ship Hall.
