GREETING

Where do you find it hardest to be accepted as a committed and active follower of Christ?

Are you ever soft spoken about your faith for fear of rejection?

What do you hope for people to know about following Jesus?

How do you deal with rejection?

PRELUDE           Aus tiefer Not schrei ich zu dir BWV 1099 — Johann Sebastian Bach

CHORAL  INTROIT      Make a Joyful Noise Unto the Lord — Randy Edwards

CALL TO WORSHIP (responsively)

One:     Come, worship the Lord Jesus Christ, the Head of the church.

All:     We gather as travelers on the same road, pursuing wholeness and      holiness in our inward being and our outward living.

One:     Yet we are divided. Past loyalties blind us to present needs and possibilities,     and our own problems continue to keep us apart.

All:       Come, Holy Spirit; revive your church again. Teach us how good and     pleasant it is to dwell in unity.

 OUR COMMON PRAYER (unison)

Holy God, you pour out your Holy Spirit into your people, giving us New Life and spiritual gifts. Your transforming power changed chaos to creation, Sarai to Sarah, Abram to Abraham, water into wine, Saul to Paul and death into new life. Open our hearts and minds to your leading today, that we may become agents of transformation for all the world, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
