Come to a Chick­en and Bis­cuit din­ner on Jan. 23

The Din­ner/­Fund-rais­ing Com­mit­tee will serve a chick­en and bis­cuit din­ner on Sat­ur­day, Jan. 23 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. The menu is hearty chick­en and gravy over but­ter­milk bis­cuits, veg­etable, tossed sal­ad, dessert, and bev­er­age.  Adults are $10.00.  6–12 are $4.00.  Chil­dren 5 and under are FREE.  Take-outs avail­able. Sign-up sheets for vol­un­teers to serve and for dessert mak­ers are now post­ed.  Teens are wel­come to sign up, too. Enjoy fel­low­ship and help the church bud­get at the same time.

Dis­cov­er the Bible study begins Jan. 13

A four-week dis­ci­ple­ship study, Dis­cov­er the Bible, begins Jan. 13. Dis­cus­sion groups will meet Sun­days at 11 a.m. and Wednes­days at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. This overview of the Bible helps par­tic­i­pants to bet­ter under­stand its con­tents and grow deep­er in their rela­tion­ship with Christ.Contact the church at 457‑5180 or lfumc@liverpoolfirstumc.org to sign up.

Women’s Min­istry — new study begins Jan. 15

A new study is start­ing Jan. 15 on Fri­day morn­ings between 9:30 and 11:30 at Liv­er­pool First UMC. It is open to all women.  We will study the book of Eph­esians. Just bring your­selves and enjoy sweet fel­low­ship.  We study and we pray and we devel­op won­der­ful friend­ships. The book of Eph­esians is loaded with spir­i­tu­al knowl­edge.  The Women’s Min­istry is ongo­ing, so come vis­it us any time. Rosanne McDougall at (451 5017) is the facil­i­ta­tor.

Sup­port fos­ter chil­dren through Project Christi­na

Pro­vide stuffed toys and reusable shop­ping bags to chil­dren who must be removed from their homes. Con­sid­er pur­chas­ing a $5 stuffed ani­mal from the Kohl’s Care for Kids pro­gram. The Coun­ty Social Ser­vices Agency also needs dia­pers, paci­fiers & bot­tles. Dona­tions may be left in the Project Christi­na box in Fel­low­ship Hall. For those of you who gave to Project Christi­na, thank you. You made a dif­fer­ence.  Please take a copy of the thank you let­ter from Social Ser­vices from the table.

Vol­un­teers need­ed to pro­vide meals for the Teen MOPS

Our church hosts meet­ings for a Teen MOPS (Moth­ers of Preschool­ers) group, and they could use our help in pro­vid­ing the young moth­ers, their chil­dren and the vol­un­teers that facil­i­tate the pro­gram with meals. Vol­un­teers may either pre­pare a meal and drop if off at church on the meet­ing day, or donate gift cards to area gro­cery stores or restau­rants, so the MOPS lead­ers can pur­chase or order food. Con­tact the church at 457‑5180 if you would like to help.

New year: new direc­tions - din­ner Jan. 11

Are you inter­est­ed in start­ing some­thing new? Is there a book you’d like to read and dis­cuss, a Bible study, mis­sion or ser­vice project you’d like to start? A new year is a great time to take the steps to make it hap­pen! You’re invit­ed to bring your ideas and a dish to share to Fel­low­ship Hall on Jan. 11. at 6:30 p.m. This will be a chance to meet oth­ers who might be inter­est­ed in sim­i­lar things (or dif­fer­ent things!) and enjoy each oth­er’s com­pa­ny and food. We’ll eat togeth­er, talk togeth­er and pray togeth­er, and deter­mine some next steps.

Teens invit­ed to after­noon of bowl­ing — Jan. 17

Youths in grades 6 through 12 are invit­ed to gath­er on Sun­day, Jan. 17 at 1 p.m. for bowl­ing at Flamin­go Lanes, with piz­za and a dis­cus­sion of racism in hon­or of the Rev. Dr. Mar­tin Luther King Jr. Con­tact Pas­tor B at bshoman@aol.com or the church at 457‑5180 for infor­ma­tion.

Girls (grades 9–12) book study begins Jan. 12

On Jan. 12, girls in grades 9 — 12 are invit­ed to Robin Folk’s home for piz­za, con­ver­sa­tion, and a study of the book called Con­fi­dent. It will run for 6 weeks from 6 — 7:30 p.m. If you are inter­est­ed, please call Robin at 622‑9360.
