UMC Market — shopping to support our church
UMC Market is an online buying program of the national United Methodist Church that generates donations to our church when you make online purchases from participating merchants. It costs you nothing. You get the best pricing from merchants, and the merchants donate a percentage of your purchase to Liverpool First. This includes travel, shopping and, services. Stop in Fellowship Hall and see demonstrations.
Confirmation Information Meeting — Jan. 6
Parent of children age 13 years or older: Liverpool First will partner with the Syracuse Church to offer a Confirmation program. An informational meeting will be held on Jan. 6. Confirmation is an intense time for study of the Christian faith and requires a significant investment of participation that will lead participants to a place where they will define their beliefs and be given the opportunity to commit themselves to Christ and active membership in the Church. They will study, discuss faith issues, and attend road trip experiences. Youth who have previously completed Confirmation may participate as Youth Mentors. We are also planning another Confirmation experience in the autumn of 2016.
New year: new directions
Are you interested in starting something new 2016? Is there a book you’d like to read and discuss, a Bible study, mission or service project you’d like to start? A new year is a great time to take the steps to make it happen! You’re invited to bring your ideas and a dish to share to Fellowship Hall on Jan. 11. at 6:30 p.m. This will be a chance to meet others who might be interested in similar things (or different things!) and enjoy each other’s company and food. We’ll eat together, talk together and pray together, and determine some next steps. We hope to see you there!
