Renew your covenant – Jan. 3

You are invit­ed to a Covenant Ser­vice on the first Sun­day of 2016. Dur­ing the 9:30 and 11 a.m. wor­ship, enter into a covenant in the Wes­leyan tra­di­tion. John Wes­ley encour­aged ear­ly Methodists to make a plan and a promise to fol­low God’s lead­ing in their lives.  Com­mit to serv­ing God in every aspect of liv­ing – at church, home, school, work and play.

2016 Offer­ing Envelopes are avail­able for pick­up

Stop in Fel­low­ship Hall after today’s ser­vice and pick up your 2016 offer­ing envelopes. If you have a friend, neigh­bor or rel­a­tive who can’t get theirs please take the envelopes to them. The envelopes insure your offer­ings are  direct­ed toward the funds you intend.

Pan­cakes are com­ing – Sun­day, Jan. 10

On Sun­day, Jan. 10 the Liv­er­pool Unit­ed Methodist Men will serve a pan­cake break­fast from 8:30 a.m. – 11 a.m. in Fel­low­ship Hall.  A free-will offer­ing will be col­lect­ed to help fund the UMM’s tuition assis­tance for “Maxo” Luc­serne, a Hait­ian stu­dent we have been sup­port­ing for years.  The menu includes pan­cakes, sausages, apple                          sauce and bev­er­ages.

Dis­trict Day with the Bish­op

Dis­trict Day with the Bish­op is Thurs­day, Jan. 14 at Belle­vue  Heights UMC, 2112 South Ged­des Street in Syra­cuse. A clergy/laity gath­er­ing with the Bish­op is planned  for the evening, begin­ning at 6:30 p. m.

Christ­mas Eve ser­vices on DVD

The church has record­ed the 5, 7 and 9 p.m. Christ­mas Eve ser­vices and a lim­it­ed num­ber of DVDs are avail­able at no charge to mem­bers of the con­gre­ga­tion on a first-come, first-served basis. If you would like one of these DVDs, please let Kate Smith at 457‑5180 know and make sure that she has your cor­rect mail­ing address and knows which ser­vice you want. DVDs will be mailed out ear­ly in Jan­u­ary.

New year: new direc­tions

Are you inter­est­ed in start­ing some­thing new 2016? Is there a book you’d like to read and dis­cuss, a Bible study, mis­sion or ser­vice project you’d like to start? a new year is a great time to take the steps to make it hap­pen! You’re invit­ed to bring your ideas and a dish to share to Fel­low­ship Hall on Jan­u­ary 11th, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. This will be a chance to meet oth­ers who might be inter­est­ed in sim­i­lar things (or dif­fer­ent things!) and to enjoy each oth­er’s com­pa­ny and food. We’ll eat togeth­er, talk togeth­er and pray togeth­er, and deter­mine some next steps. We hope to see you there! –Kay Phillips & Pas­tor Ali­son

Free Ham din­ner today

A free month­ly com­mu­ni­ty meal (no strings attached), today, from 4 to 6 p.m. at St. Matthew’s Epis­co­pal Church on Vine Street in Liv­er­pool. All are wel­come. This mon­th’s menu is a ham din­ner.

                       Light a light 

To hon­or or remem­ber a loved one, help light the church bell gaze­bo with Love Lights. An offer­ing of any amount may be placed in envelopes marked Love Lights that are locat­ed in the sanc­tu­ary pew racks, and placed in the offer­ing plate. Con­tri­bu­tions sup­port the mis­sion trip to Red Bird Mis­sion in Ken­tucky.

The Out­reach and Mis­sions Com­mis­sion is host­ing bus rides through Lights on the Lake on Mon­day, Jan. 4, at 6:30 p.m. Enjoy hot choco­late in Fel­low­ship Hall. The ride is no charge, a dona­tion is accept­ed for the ride or for gas mon­ey. Sign up in Fel­low­ship Hall. Arrive ear­ly, as the bus leaves prompt­ly at 6:30 p.m.
