AN ADVENT AFFIRMATION OF FAITH (11:00)
We believe God is the author of time, of the slender moments that slip through the hourglass of all the incomprehensible eons that constitute eternity. We confess our abuse of life, the wasting of time on things that we should not treasure and our distortion of the gifts God has given us. When the time was right, God sent His Son into the world to save us from our brokenness, to heal the damage from our rejection of God’s will, and to reveal the way, God’s way, to abundance of life for all people. God does not measure worthiness as we do, in terms of wealth or power; but in terms of love, grace and generosity; in thankful spirits that recognize and maximize the gifts God lays daily upon our humble doorsteps. Jesus is the greatest gift to our life, and in Him are revealed the greater gifts we are to treasure. Through Jesus, God calls us to acknowledge these gifts, receive these gifts and use them in the time we have to bless others and the world God has made. We believe that as we give back to life we receive the most wonderful life God has to offer. Amen.

THE SPOKEN WORD Celebrating Ordinary Miracles Rev. Dr. Brian Homan
My God, what joy it is when you come to us in daily visitation. You miraculously transform the ordinary into the extraordinary. What hope is ours when by your coming we find new life. Come, once again and live with us. Fill our worship with your presence. Excite us with the potentials of living and empower our response to every opportunity so we might not live with regret, but proclaim to all that ours is a wonderful life because you are with us. Amen.
