Extending the Communion Table
to home bound members
Next Sunday, Nov 29, we will celebrate Holy Communion in our worship services. Could you help deliver communion to our members at home or in a long term care facility? Sign up in the Fellowship Hall if you can assist. And, please be sure to sign the cards that will be delivered to our housebound members.
All women invited to Olivebranch tomorrow
Olivebranch, a group of Liverpool First women, meets Nov. 23 at 5:30 p.m. for appetizers, then dinner at 6 p.m. followed by the program at 7 p.m. Colleen Bland, community business development manager at Barnes and Noble, will present “Curl up With a Good Book”. Discover new fiction and nonfiction best reads for winter time or gift giving and tips on new technology for reading. Examples will be for sale. The cost is $5 for the catered dinner. Candlelight remembrance service
Dec. 4 at 7 p.m.
You and your family and friends are invited to participate in this time of remembering loved ones who have passed away, and thanking God for the gift of their lives. This annual service is sponsored by Mauer Funeral Home and the Liverpool Clergy Association. Liverpool First UMC is the host this year, and we need cookies for a reception following the service. Please sign up in Fellowship Hall if you can assist.
Support foster children through Project Christina
“Project Christina” supports the Onondaga County Social Services Foster Care Agency by providing stuffed toys and reusable shopping bags to children who must be removed from their homes. Consider purchasing a $5 stuffed animal from the Kohl’s Care for Kids program. Social Services also needs diapers, pacificers & bottles. Donations may be left in the Project Christina box in Fellowship Hall. For those who contribute, there is a thank you letter from Social Services that can be used for tax purposes.

We need volunteers to become a part of the children’s ministry. Volunteer monthly, weekly or occasionally. Every minute you give matters to a child! Exciting changes are taking place in Discovery Zone, from new curriculum and new faces to the preparation of a new infant nursery!

New hearing enhancement devices were given in loving memory of Warren Tilden by his family and friends. If you haven’t had a chance to try one, ask an usher to assist you in finding the best one to make your worship experience one you can enjoy more fully.
Light a Love Light
to support mission work at Red Bird
Would you like to honor or remember a loved one this Christmas? Help light the church bell gazebo with Love Lights. An offering of any amount may be placed in the envelopes marked Love Lights that are located in the sanctuary pew racks, and placed in the Sunday offering plate any Sunday from Nov. 29 to Jan. 3. Contributions support the April 2016 church mission team work trip to Red Bird Mission in Kentucky.
LIFE Youth Ministry
L.I.F.E. (Live In Faith Everyday), Liverpool’s ministry with students in grades 6 — 12, meets most Fridays at 6:30 p.m. for worship, followed by games, planning, and food. For information contact Pastor B at 457‑5180. Bottle Collection — Drop off returnable bottles and cans at church to support the youth ministry, or bring them to MSK Bottle Return on Rt. 57 near Wetzel Rd. for the Liverpool Methodist Youth account.
Red Bird Mission Trip 2016
Will you join the April 23–30, 2016 Service Trip to Red Bird Mission in Kentucky? The Dec. 1 deadline is fast approaching! The cost per person is approximately $550 for the week long trip. This includes transportation, meals, lodging, and all materials. A nonrefundable $75 deposit will secure your space on the bus. After Dec. 1, the deposit required will be $100 per person. Take a break for midweek worship on Wednesday evenings beginning Dec. 2. In contrast with the Christmas music playing in shopping centers, Bill Young will play Advent hymns on the organ. In contrast with the consumer gratification language of our consumer culture, the Service of Word and Table IV will be used for the communion liturgy. To participate as a greeter, candle-lighter, or reader, please contact the church office (457‑5180).
