GREETING

CHORAL INTROIT                               O Be Joyful - John Yarrington

CALL TO WORSHIP (responsively)

ONE:  Today is a new day, a day to learn to see one another as God does. Humans     see only what is visible to the eyes, but the Lord sees beyond outward appearances and into the heart.

ALL:   May the love of Christ control our perception, our speech, and our actions.

ONE:  Whoever is in Christ is a new creation; everything old has passed away, behold, everything has become new!

ALL:   All of this is from God who restores us to right relationship through Christ and gives us the ministry of reconciliation.

OUR COMMON PRAYER (unison)

Creating and recreating God, we thank you for your reign of love that continually makes all things new. We confess that we have been more adept at professing our faith than at practicing it. In this new season, nurture the growth of your justice, mercy, and healing in our hearts, so that our daily living may reflect our Sunday proclamations. Teach us to trust in your Word, so that we may live no longer for ourselves but for Jesus Christ who died and was raised to draw our sinful world to himself. Amen.
