INTROIT No. 349           Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus

CALL TO WORSHIP (responsively)   Psalm 145:8–13

One:    The Lord is merciful and compassionate, very patient, and full of faithful love.

ALL:   The Lord is good to everyone and everything; God’s compassion extends to all God’s handiwork!

One:   All that you have made gives thanks to you, O Lord;

ALL:   All your faithful ones bless you!

ONE:  They speak of the glory of your kingdom, they talk about your power, to inform
all human beings about God’s power and the majestic glory of God’s kingdom.

ALL:   Your kingdom is a reign that lasts forever; your dominion endures for
all generations.

OPENING PRAYER (unison)

Lord, we face so many challenges: deadlines to be met, decisions to be made, to-do lists to be tackled, worries over health, concerns over the future, and care for loved ones. In this time of worship, strengthen us to turn away from our anxieties to renew our connection to one another and to Christ, the source of our faith and hope. We turn, O God, from a society where money rules, and the powerless are ignored, to knock on the door that opens to justice and acceptance, a door that leads to your glorious Realm. Amen.
