Young Adult Pic­nic Aug. 8

Gath­er with Unit­ed Methodists ages 18–35 at Gillis Lake in Camil­lus from 4–7 p.m. Aug. 8 at Pavil­ion 3. The pic­nic is open to all and fam­i­lies are encour­aged to attend. We will open with a short time of wor­ship fol­lowed by fel­low­ship, eat­ing, and play­ing games.  Bring: dish to pass, chair, favorite lawn games, and an instru­ment if you would like. The Young Adult Coun­cil is pro­vid­ing the meat. R.S.VP. (how many are com­ing and what dish you are bring­ing) by Aug. 5 to Ash­ley Rid­dell at or via cell phone at (315) 406‑2210.

Quilt­ing class­es

There will be Quilt­ing class­es for any­one inter­est­ed begin­ning Aug. 4 at 10 a.m. and con­tin­u­ing for the month of August.

Dance Min­istry

We are start­ing a Dance Min­istry here at LFUMC! If you are inter­est­ed in help­ing plan the min­istry or  being a per­former please con­tact  Ali­son Mapes, at, or the church office, 457‑5180

Chil­dren’s lead­ers need­ed

Please lift up in prayer the fol­low­ing needs as we pre­pare for our fall pro­grams: Direc­tor for the Spir­it Singers Chil­dren’s Choir, for chil­dren in grades K — 5; Sun­day School teach­ers for chil­dren at sev­er­al grade lev­els. Talk to either of the pas­tors or call the church at 457‑5180 if you feel the call to serve in these min­istries.

Syra­cuse Ride for Miss­ing Chil­dren

On Fri­day, Sept. 25, 200 cyclists will ride from school to school to raise mon­ey for the Nation­al Cen­ter for Miss­ing and Exploit­ed Chil­dren. Help NCMEC in their mis­sion to edu­cate the pub­lic about the plight of miss­ing and exploit­ed chil­dren and the need for safe­ty and abduc­tion pre­ven­tion edu­ca­tion. If you are a bike rid­er, join us in the ride, and raise mon­ey for the cause. You may see our pas­tors among the rid­ers. Ori­en­ta­tion rides start Aug. 1st. There are oppor­tu­ni­ties to sup­port the ride. Each rid­er rais­es $300 that stays in our com­mu­ni­ty. It pro­vides edu­ca­tion­al mate­r­i­al, posters of miss­ing chil­dren and recov­ery ser­vices. If you are inter­est­ed in help­ing, con­tact Mike Nort­man at 720‑0709, or

Wor­ship in The Park — Fri­day evenings

Every Fri­day through­out the sum­mer, Liv­er­pool First hosts an infor­mal wor­ship ser­vice in John­son Park from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wor­ship includes singing, read­ing of the Word, and wit­ness to the Scrip­ture as well as per­son­al wit­ness­es from our mem­bers. Your fam­i­ly is wel­come to join. Bring a lawn chair and look for the ban­ner and cross.
