Next Sun­day — Wor­ship at 11 with Dra­ma Camp!

The chil­dren will present a Dra­ma Camp Christ­mas Pageant in July at 11:00 a.m. wor­ship July 26. There will be a tra­di­tion­al 8 a.m. ser­vice; no 9:30 a.m. ser­vice on July 26.

Bring a dish to pass, your own table ser­vice, and chairs. Hot dogs, ham­burg­ers, and drinks will be pro­vid­ed. Fun and games are planned!

Weird Ani­mals Vaca­tion Bible School
Every Sun­day at 9:30 a.m. chil­dren learn about God in VBS style! Invite friends for music, games, and sci­ence.

Camper­ship Funds need boost­ing

Please donate to our “Camper­ship” fund to help send our youth to camp. Camp is a place where lives are changed and kids meet Christ! Last year, Casowas­co  rec­og­nized LFUMC for being one of the top ten church­es send­ing youth to Casowas­co dur­ing the 2014 sum­mer camp sea­son. Let’s try to meet that goal once again.

Liv­er­pool Sum­mer Meal Pro­gram

A free lunch is served to any­one 18 or younger Mon­day — Fri­day 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Liv­er­pool Ele­men­tary Cafe­te­ria or BOCES on Crown Rd.

Cel­e­brate the Min­istry of Sara Bai­ley — July 26

At the Church Pic­nic in John­son Park on July 26, we will cel­e­brate the min­istry of Sara Bai­ley, our Chris­t­ian Edu­ca­tion Direc­tor. Sara will be leav­ing her posi­tion at the church for an Art Teacher posi­tion at East Syra­cuse Ele­men­tary. We will miss Sara’s cre­ativ­i­ty and joy­ful lead­er­ship, but we rejoice with her that she has found full-time employ­ment in her field. Plan to attend the pic­nic July 26. Bring a dish to pass and a card or note to tell Sara what you have appre­ci­at­ed about her min­istry.

John­son Park Con­cert sign up sheet

The sign up sheet to sell pop­corn for the con­certs in the park has been mis­placed so if you signed up for a  date please sign up again with your phone num­ber and date you can do it. We also need some­one to con­tact the per­son who signed up for July 27 con­cert in case of rain and pick up spare All of Us and take them to the con­cert.

Church Mem­ber­ship Class

You are invit­ed to par­tic­i­pate in a Church Mem­ber­ship Class at 11 a.m today. How does one become a mem­ber of a Unit­ed Methodist Church? The class is open to any­one: vis­i­tors, per­sons con­sid­er­ing mem­ber­ship, and cur­rent church mem­bers. An oppor­tu­ni­ty to take mem­ber­ship vows will occur at the 11 a.m. Wor­ship Ser­vice on July 26. We will greet new mem­bers at the church pic­nic in John­son Park, across Oswego St. from the Pur­ple Doors. Con­tact the church office at 457‑5180 for infor­ma­tion.

Wor­ship in The Park — Fri­day evenings

Every Fri­day through­out the sum­mer, Liv­er­pool First will host an infor­mal wor­ship ser­vice in John­son Park from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wor­ship will include singing, the read­ing of the Word, and wit­ness to the Scrip­ture as well as per­son­al wit­ness­es from our mem­bers. Your fam­i­ly is wel­come to join. Bring a lawn chair and look for the ban­ner and cross.

Quilt­ing class­es

There will be Quilt­ing class­es for any­one inter­est­ed begin­ning the first Tues­day in August and con­tin­u­ing for the month of August.

Advanced Lay Ser­vant Course

The Advanced Lay Ser­vant Course, How to Con­struct an Effec­tive Ser­mon, will be offered at Fayet­teville Unit­ed Methodist Church, 601 East Gene­see St., Fayet­teville, from 7 to 9 p.m., on Wednes­days, Sept. 2 — 30. Atten­dance on all dates is required for cred­it. The instruc­tor will be Rev. Dr. Rus­sell Hall. If you are inter­est­ed in the course, please com­plete an appli­ca­tion form, have it signed by your pas­tor and return it to Susan Ranous, 201 Can­dee Ave., Syra­cuse, NY 13224 with a $10 check payable to “UNYAC” by Sept. 1. 5 Cents Makes a Dif­fer­ence!

As you pick up from sum­mer pic­nics and par­ties, don’t for­get that you can bring your 5 cent return­able bot­tles and cans to either the church or MSK Returns on Rt. 57 near Wet­zel Rd.  Our church has an account there, and all monies earned go direct­ly to sup­port our youth pro­grams.  To date this has earned over $200.00.

All returns must be clean and with­out bot­tle caps.  Thanks!

Cycling fel­low­ship

Do you want to enjoy the out­doors, get exer­cise, and meet and wor­ship with sis­ters and broth­ers from oth­er UM Church­es? Bring your bicy­cle to the Brew­er­ton Unit­ed Methodist Church every Tues­day for a recre­ation­al bike ride of 10 to 12 miles. Dif­fer­ent routes every week. Start at 5:30 p.m. with devo­tions and prayer. More chal­leng­ing rides at a faster pace and dis­tance of 35 miles leave from the park­ing lot of North Syra­cuse Believ­er’s Chapel every Thurs­day at 4:30 p.m.

The church main­tains a Pas­tors Dis­cre­tionary Fund Cri­sis Care account to help peo­ple fac­ing finan­cial dif­fi­cul­ties. Dona­tions by cash or check are always wel­come; please note on your offer­ing enve­lope or check that it is for the “Pas­tors Dis­cre­tion — Cri­sis Care.” Also, gift cards to Aldi, Nichols, Weg­mans or oth­er gro­cery stores, as well as gas cards and bus pass­es, are accept­ed. These may be placed in the offer­to­ry plate or brought to the church office. Thank you.

Spaghet­ti Ware­house Din­ner The­ater — Oct. 15: Acme Mys­tery Com­pa­ny. Menu: chick­en parmi­giana, spaghet­ti feast lasagne, chick­en alfre­do, or egg­plant parmi­giana. Arrive at 6:30 p.m. at  689 North Clin­ton St. The show is from 7 to 10 p.m.  $25 per per­son. LFUMC Cou­ples and Sin­gles Club will join us. Reser­va­tions and pay­ment will be accept­ed in August.

Evening of musi­cal the­ater

Acclaimed Boston sopra­no Jean Dan­ton will present a con­cert on July 24 at 7:30 p.m. at Willard Chapel in Auburn. Dan­ton has per­formed through­out the Unit­ed States and Europe. Thanks for prayers

Vanes­sa Greene-Eber­hardt and hus­band, Chuck Eber­hardt, sin­cere­ly thank all those who prayed for their son, Chris­t­ian John Eber­hardt, who suf­fered with strep­to­coc­cus at birth. Chris­t­ian was released from the hos­pi­tal after 12 days, and is doing great! There is pow­er in prayer! Hum­bled and grate­ful grand­par­ents are Doug and Don­na Greene.
