Church Membership Class
On 3 Sundays, July 5, 12, and 19, you are invited to participate in a Church Membership Class at 11 a.m. Topics of discussion will be: What are the core beliefs of United Methodism? How are they the same/different from other Christians? What are the distinctive theological emphases of the United Methodist Church? What are the most important practices for United Methodist living? How are they the same/different from the practices of persons of other faith traditions? How are they practiced at Liverpool United Methodist Church? How does one become a member of a United Methodist Church? The class is open to anyone who wishes to attend, including visitors, persons considering membership, and current church members. An opportunity to take membership vows will occur at the 11 a.m. Worship Service on Sunday, July 26. We will then greet new members at the church picnic at Johnson Park, just across Oswego St. from the Purple Doors. Contact the church office at 457‑5180 for information.
Celebrate the Ministry of Sara Bailey on July 26
At the Church Picnic in Johnson Park on Sunday, July 26, we will celebrate the ministry of Sara Bailey, our Christian Education Director. Sara will be leaving her position here at the church for an Art Teacher position at East Syracuse Elementary. We will miss Sara’s creativity and joyful leadership, but we rejoice with her that she has found full-time employment in her field. Plan to attend the picnic July 26. Bring a dish to pass and a card or note to tell Sara what you have appreciated about her ministry.
Worship in The Park — Friday evenings
Every Friday throughout the summer, Liverpool First will host an informal worship service in Johnson Park from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Worship shall include singing, the reading of the Word, and witness to the Scripture as well as personal witnesses from several of our members. Your family is welcome to join. Bring a lawn chair and look for the banner and cross.
Advanced Lay Servant Course
The Advanced Lay Servant Course, How to Construct an Effective Sermon, will be offered at Fayetteville United Methodist Church, 601 East Genesee St., Fayetteville, from 7 to 9 p.m., on Wednesdays, Sept. 2 — 30. Attendance on all dates is required for credit. The instructor will be Rev. Dr. Russell Hall. If you are interested in this course, please complete application form, have it signed by your pastor and return it to Susan Ranous, 201 Candee Ave., Syracuse, NY 13224 with a check payable to “UNYAC” in the sum of $10 by Sept. 1. Missionary Visit — July 9
Devorah Umigig-Julian and Ronald Julian, missionaries in Tokyo Japan with the Board of Global Ministries, will be with us on Thursday, July 9. Join us for a covered-dish dinner at 6 p.m. followed by a presentation by them at 7:15 p.m.
Do you want to enjoy the outdoors, get exercise, and meet and worship with sisters and brothers from other UM Churches? Bring your bicycle to the Brewerton United Methodist Church every Tuesday for a recreational bike ride of ten to twelve miles. Different routes every week. Start at 5:30 p.m with devotions and prayer. More challenging rides at a faster pace and distance of 35 miles leave from the parking lot of North Syracuse Believer’s Chapel every Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
Youth golf & ice cream, July 6
Teens entering grades 7 — 12 are invited to meet at church on Monday, July 6 to play Putt Putt and enjoy ice cream sundaes and come back again for kickball and pizza on Monday, July 27th. The fun begins at 6 p.m.

Volunteers needed at the Rescue Mission Thrifty Shopper Store (corner of Electronics Parkway and Old Liverpool Rd) 2 hour shifts (sorting & straightening) Tuesdays or weekends beginning in August from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. If you are interested in helping, please contact Sarah Bieling.
Represent Liverpool First at Community Concerts
On Mondays and Wednesdays from 7 p.m to 9 p.m., there are free community concerts in Johnson Park, across Oswego St. from our church. We are looking for teams of 3 or 4 people to assist in serving popcorn and selling soft drinks at the concerts on: July 6 and 27, and Aug. 10. Sign up at the table in Fellowship Hall or call the church at 457‑5180.
Weird Animals Vacation Bible School
Every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. children gather to learn about God in VBS style! Invite friends to come for music, games, and science.

Monday, July 6th at 6:30 p.m. we will have a volunteer party! If you are interested volunteering for Christmas In July Drama Camp please join us. We will have dinner and prepare for drama camp. Questions will be answered and we will pray over this unique event!
Come River Rafting — July 18
Join the Youth of Liverpool for an afternoon of rafting down the Salmon River. Enjoy the challenge of maneuvering through the rapids and taking in the scenery. We will eat lunch together and celebrate our faith with those who desire Baptism or who want to renew their vows of Baptism. Cost is $46 per person, $23 for Youth after a scholarship. YOU MUST MAKE YOUR RESERVATION BY MONDAY, JULY 6 by email or calling the church office at 457‑5180. There is limited space on the bus.
Campership Funds need boosting
Please donate to our “Campership” fund to help send our youth to camp. Camp is a place where lives are changed and kids meet Christ! Last year, Casowasco recognized LFMUC for being one of the top ten churches sending youth to Casowasco during the 2014 summer camp season. Let’s try to meet that goal once again.
Darien Lake tickets to raise money for camp
We were given 5 tickets to Darien Lake from Operation Christmas Child, and will give them to the highest bidder on July 12. Place your bid in the Silent Auction box in Fellowship Hall. Adult tickets to Darien Lake are valued at $46.
