Grad­u­ates — share your news with us!

To announce your grad­u­a­tion in the church newslet­ter, please pro­vide the fol­low­ing infor­ma­tion by June 7: your name, name of the school that you grad­u­at­ed from, parent’s names, future plans (col­lege, career, etc.), hon­ors or awards that you’d like to men­tion. Email a pho­to to kate.smith@liverpoolfirstumc.org. Last chance to have your pic­ture tak­en — June 7

June 7 is the last day to have your pho­to tak­en for the 2015 church direc­to­ry. A pho­to stu­dio will be set up from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. that day in the down­stairs Sun­day School area. If you pre­fer to sub­mit your own pho­to or would like us to use your pho­to from the 2013 direc­to­ry, email kate.smith@liverpoolfirstumc.org by June 7.

Stew­ard­ship Progress

The data below shows how we stand after the first week of pledg­ing ver­sus our goals for the stew­ard­ship cam­paign that sup­ports our 2015–16 fis­cal year that begins on July 1.

 

Senior Min­istries events

There are four spaces avail­able for the June 26 Dix­ie Land Din­ner Cruise — mon­ey must be received today and meal choic­es select­ed. Details are on the table in Fel­low­ship Hall.

There are 27 seats avail­able on the August 21 bus trip to Canandaigua for a lun­cheon cruise, 3 seats avail­able for the bus trip to Dundee/Glenora Win­ery tour  & lun­cheon on Sept. 18, 43 seats for the Spaghet­ti Ware­house on Oct. 15, and 51 seats avail­able for  “For­ev­er Plaid“on Dec. 14.

PLEASE do not sign your name on any sheets on our table. They are there only for meal choice selec­tions if required. Only reser­va­tions called into 695‑6696 or emailed to sbieling@hotmail.com will be accept­ed. All mon­ey (checks only) must be received one month pri­or to the event or before. If not received at that time, you name will be removed from the list.

for June 6 BBQ

To avoid peo­ple hav­ing to cov­er mul­ti­ple shifts, please look over the vol­un­teer sign-up sheets post­ed in Fel­low­ship Hall to see where you might donate 2–3 hours of time. Cov­er­age on Thurs­day evening, Fri­day morn­ing, and Sat­ur­day are crit­i­cal for this biggest fund-rais­er of the year.

Church-wide pic­nic June 7

After the 9:30 a.m. ser­vice on June 7th, all are wel­come to enjoy food and fel­low­ship as we cel­e­brate this year of faith devel­op­ment and friend­ship among our youth, fam­i­lies, and vol­un­teers. Food will be served in Fel­low­ship Hall and games and face paint­ing will be set up out­side. Bring a plate out­side to a pic­nic table! The pic­nic is for every­one. We’d love it if all joined in to cel­e­brate our youth and thank our vol­un­teers.

Recy­cle shoes

 Help pro­vide employ­ment for peo­ple with dis­abil­i­ties, assist peo­ple in African nations to build micro busi­ness­es, pro­vide shoes for adults and chil­dren at a min­i­mal fee, and pro­vide mos­qui­to net­ting to pro­tect from malar­ia. The Unit­ed Methodist Women will col­lect gen­tly used shoes dur­ing the month of June to par­tic­i­pate in this mis­sion. Mens, wom­ens, kids, ath­let­ic and ath­let­ic cleats are need­ed. NO win­ter shoes or boots, flip flops, crocs or  rain  boots. Shoes must  in good con­di­tion, clean of dirt, gum, and holes. Laces should be in good con­di­tion. Please join us in shar­ing in this mis­sion.

The Open Table — Sun­day May 31st from 4–6 p.m.

A free month­ly com­mu­ni­ty meal (no strings attached) will be pro­vid­ed at St. Matthew’s Epis­co­pal Church, 900 Vine St, Liv­er­pool, NY. The menu is: Baked chick­en, pota­toes and veg­eta­bles. UM Night at the Ball Park Tues­day, June 16th 

Don’t miss out on the UNY Con­fer­ence-wide tail­gate par­ty (bring a dish to pass, and your own drink and table ser­vice) with com­pli­men­ta­ry grilled hot­dogs and coneys pro­vid­ed. We are set up in the far right hand side of NBT Bank Sta­di­um, one Tex Simone Dri­ve, Syra­cuse (east side of Rt. 81 at Park Street, near Des­tiny USA). and bring along non-per­ish­able foods to go to the Food Bank of CNY. Look for the col­lec­tion bar­rels locat­ed at the tail­gate par­ty, fol­lowed at 7:00 with the 36th annu­al Chiefs’ Unit­ed Methodist Night at the Ball­park. At 6:45, we will also lead the singing of the Nation­al Anthem — at Home Plate!
