Olive­branch Wom­en’s Group meets May 18

Olive­branch Wom­en’s Group will meet May 18 start­ing with punch and appe­tiz­ers at 5:30 p.m., fol­lowed by din­ner at 6 p.m. The pro­gram will be a pre­sen­ta­tion by Erin Yea­ger from McMahon/Ryan Child Advo­ca­cy Cen­ter. Her sub­ject will be Sex Traf­fick­ing. Please call Pat Cuper­nall at 457‑6730 to make a reser­va­tion no lat­er than to­day, May 17. All are wel­come to attend for din­ner and/or just the pre­sen­ta­tion.

Waters of Repen­tance

May Jus­tice Flow Down Like Water: Bring an ounce of water to wor­ship on May 24. The Com­mit­tee on Native Amer­i­can Min­istries (CONAM) has invit­ed each church in our Upper NY Con­fer­ence area to bring water to a Wor­ship Ser­vice of Repen­tance and Rec­on­cil­i­a­tion at 7 p.m. in the OnCen­ter on Wednes­day, May 27. Waters drawn from lakes, streams, rivers, and ponds across NY state will be com­bined as a sym­bol of water that has nur­tured both indige­nous and immi­grant peo­ple with­in the Unit­ed Methodist church. If you would like to attend Pas­tor B will be dri­ving the church bus and you may sign up in Fel­low­ship Hall.

Bring flow­ers to hon­or loved ones May 24

Hon­or per­sons who have served or are serv­ing in the mil­i­tary or loved ones by bring­ing flow­ers to add to a Memo­r­i­al Day bou­quet on Sun­day, May 24. The bou­quet will be made into arrange­ments for our home-bound mem­bers. Please sign up in Fel­low­ship Hall if you can deliv­er flow­ers to a mem­ber at their home dur­ing the week of May 24.

Grad­u­ates — share your news with us!

In the sum­mer issue of the church newslet­ter, All of Us, we rec­og­nize mem­bers of our church fam­i­ly that have grad­u­at­ed. If you would like to announce your grad­u­a­tion, please pro­vide the fol­low­ing infor­ma­tion by June 7: your name, the name of the school that you grad­u­at­ed from, your parent’s names, your future plans (col­lege, career, etc.), and any hon­ors or awards that you would like to men­tion. Also, please drop off or email a pho­to to Kate at kate.smith@liverpoolfirstumc.org. “Christ­mas in July” Dra­ma Camp at LFUMC

July 20 — 24    6 to 8 p.m.

Din­ner for fam­i­lies and vol­un­teers at 5:30 p.m. every night

• Fri­day dress rehearsal with ear­ly dis­missal at 7 p.m.

• Sun­day 11 a.m. per­for­mance in Sanc­tu­ary

For chil­dren ages Pre‑K through 6th grade
Old­er youth are wel­come to help as Junior Coun­selors

We will cre­ate a dra­ma per­for­mance with options to sing, act, or cre­ate scenery while tak­ing a deep­er look at the Christ­mas sto­ry. We will sing and dance and cre­ate VBS style.

Weird Ani­mals Vaca­tion Bible School
Sun­days at 9:30 a.m. all sum­mer!

Every Sun­day at 9:30 a.m. we will gath­er to learn about God in VBS style! Invite friends to come and cel­e­brate with music, games, sci­ence, and oth­er fun activ­i­ties.

Church-Wide Pic­nic June 7

After the 9:30 a.m. ser­vice on June 7th, all are wel­come to enjoy food and fel­low­ship togeth­er as we cel­e­brate a won­der­ful year of faith devel­op­ment and friend­ship among our youth, fam­i­lies, and vol­un­teers. Food will be served inside Fel­low­ship Hall and games and face paint­ing will be set up out­side. Feel free to bring a plate out­side to a pic­nic table! This cel­e­bra­tion is for every­one and we would love it if all joined in to cel­e­brate our youth and thank our vol­un­teers.

Recy­cle shoes

                                                                       Help oth­ers pro­vide employ­ment for peo­ple with dis­abil­i­ties, assist peo­ple in African nations to build micro busi­ness­es, pro­vide shoes for adults and chil­dren at a min­i­mal fee that need them. Pro­vide mos­qui­to net­ting to pro­tect from malar­ia. The Unit­ed Methodist Women will col­lect gen­tly used shoes dur­ing the month of June to par­tic­i­pate in this mis­sion. Mens, wom­ens, kids, ath­let­ic and ath­let­ic cleats are need­ed. NO win­ter shoes or boots, flip flops, crocs or  rain  boots. Shoes must  in good con­di­tion, clean of dirt, gum, and holes. Laces should be in good con­di­tion. Please join us in shar­ing in this mis­sion.

Prayer Part­ners invite you to be a part of the group that meets Mon­days at the church, from 3 to 4 p.m. Learn­ing how to call on God in prayer is one way that we devel­op our rela­tion­ship with God.
