CALL TO WORSHIP

One: God calls us into covenant this day to receive forgiveness of our sin and to grow in our understanding of God’s call to each of us.

Many: We rejoice in God’s invitation.

One: As we worship today, the waters of baptism welcome others into our community and the church universal, which Christ opened to people of all ages, nations, and races.

Many: Let us renew our commitment to grow together in grace and bear witness to Jesus through our prayers, our presence, our gifts, and our service.

OPENING PRAYER

Gift-giving God, we praise your abiding guidance, for you sent us Jesus, our Teacher and Messiah, to model for us the way of love for the whole universe. Open our hearts to his teaching, open our minds to apply his teaching to our lives today, and make us faithful stewards of all you have taught and entrusted to us, that all the riches of heaven may flow through us to a world in need. Amen.
